Which companies have run the Channel 3 services in the Sudbury transmitter area
What you need is something like this eBay item 264646940009 but can I find a new one or similar by a different manufacturer at a "sensible" price!! These things used to be widely available, two a penny!
In that example you can remove the existing "leads" and connect your aerial and downlead coaxes directly to it.

Not exactly sure what you mean by "population" problems, however, if it's actually the Sudbury transmitter that you're supposed to be receiving, I can't trace any reported faults either by Freeview or the BBC. Without a full postcode, it's not possible to look at predicted reception for your location and which transmitter(s) you may/should be receiving.
Have you changed anything around moved any/added any equipment. It may pay to check all your coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads are a common problem, try swapping/changing them. See what signal strengths and quality you are getting for the multiplexes shown in your TV's tuning section. Also check that your downlead looks undamaged (especially if it is old) and that your aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction.
Problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just an individual or several multiplexes.

Rex Watson: Sony Movies recently moved to COM6, however it is also still being carried on its previous multiplex on LCN 792. Nothing has been announced regarding when this arrangement will end, or what will replace the old version of Sony Movies. Sony Movies Classic can be found on the local mux in areas that have a local TV station on LCN 7 or 8.
