Carol: Frankly, my ones on the way out, so if your close to North Cambridgeshire....
Seriously, they cost about £20 or less new, and most people now have TV's with Freeview or Freeview HD included (in fact I'm amazed they still get people to buy TV's with just Freeview in them - an HD panel should really have an HD tuner), so its only older TV's without a digital tuner (or one thats stopped working) that really need them.
My best advice is to keep it for the moment. Always useful if someones box does pack up, and you can add it to an older TV, VCR or even a PC with a video card (to make into a recorder). Just box it up and stick it in the loft. At some point it might go to the tip, but at present, it just might come in handy.

Thanks for your reply Mike. I think I'll contact some charities to see if they're interested. They did take away my old TV so you never know. I'm not good at keeping things I don't need. Failing that, it could be Currys!

richard: It's transmitted at a woeful 24kW power along with 8 other channels on channel 31, it could be your aerial or cabling if you are problems receiving it, get it checked out. Old aerials or knackered cables can often make all the difference between getting it, or poorly, or even not at all.

According to the list above its on channel 33 and 6.4 kw. I dont have any trouble receiving other channels :/

Richard : I think Anthony has mistakenly checked the info for Winter Hill's COM7 rather than the Sutton Coldfield transmitter, COM7 on the latter radiating at 89.22Kw on Mux C33.
However, even although 89.22Kw cannot really be classed as being low powered, it is when compared to the 200Kw radiated by other multiplexes, likewise the reception of COM7 is entirely dependant on your location, checking on this only possible with the aid of a post code or alternatively one from nearby, e.g: a shop / Post Office.

richard: Yes, but as to my knowledge there arent any plans to make further increases in power, then in order to check if its possible to receive COM7 in your area go into the tuning menu on your TV or box, selecting "manual tune" and entering Mux C33, but "NOT" followed by pressing scan or search but waiting to see if anything is indicated, as this action makes the tuner act like a form of signal meter which will reveal if any signal exists in the first place to be improved on, be it by an aerial upgrade or the use of a booster.

There is a signal there it just breaks up and some days disapears i removed an 18db attenuator off the aerial and replaced a low gain distribution amp for a four way f-splitter. Signals were fine when HD was all on ch40, i have no problems getting other muxs on 8kw its just com7 on 6.4kw i guess its falling off the slope i intend to keep the system as it is but change the aerial for a slightly higher gain one and dont worry we are in a very good signal area its DY4 hence i wouldn't be able to split the aerial like this. All signals checked on a meter, thanks
