jack: There is still engineering work taking place this week. Weather conditions may also be a factor, allowing the signal from distant transmitters on the same frequency to travel further than normal and interfering with the signal from Sutton Coldfield.

Ayub Bhayat: Do you normally get this channel, which is GB News? If so then there are engineering works ongoing and this might be the reason, the transmitter might not be on full power.

Many viewers will not see any difference with the lower power because they aren't in situations where the full amount is really needed. If you normally get this channel then perhaps you really need the full amount of power for the signal to reach you.

I don't know for certain that the transmitter is on low power. I am surmising as a possibility based on the assumption that you have lost this channel which you normally get *and* the fact that there is engineering works. If so, then the best advice is to sit it out and expect it to return to normal.

Don't retune because all that this will result in is loss of tuning. If you have retuned, then use the manual tuning section of your TV and scan UHF channel 39 (618MHz). If you have no joy with manual tuning, then wait a while and try again.

Chaz Burton: There is currently a warning of engineering works taking place at the Sutton Coldfield transmitter. To offer specific advice we need a full postcode to be able to see your predicted signal strength, but it's worth checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV, as any faults are more likely to show up during times when the signal strength is reduced.

Chaz Burton:

It's difficult to say what the cause of your issue is, you maybe in a spot that doesn't have good reception and without a full postcode we can't check predicted reception, B32 is a large area. It's highly improbable that it's a transmitter fault - the BBC haven't reported any faults for the transmitter, and there would be many other posts if there was a fault.
The transmitter is listed for Planned Engineering as in the post before yours, so there could be interruptions to service which are usually brief.

Have you checked that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing correctly? Check all your accessible coax connections may sure they are connected correctly with no corrosion or water.
I hope you didn't retune when you lost signal, as this will probably have just cleared all the correct tuning - you cannot tune to signals that are not there or can't be decoded, and you'll just have to retune again when your signals are normal.
