David: effective level for Mux 2 and A is always 'low'. It's a consequence of the fact that they never changed after ITV failed in 2002. Mux 1, B, C and D changed to a mode roughly equivalent to increasing the power by 2-2.5x, without causing any increase in to transmissions (primarily those from ). The cost was about 25% of the capacity on each .

The bars shown against each multiplex indicate the normal situation. When there is work, Digital UK only report 'possible weak ' and don't tell us exactly when and by how much the signal is to be reduced.

At , power levels are 25 times higher and there is no longer a clash with Emley Moor. All SD multiplexes will use the same mode as Mux 2 and A do now.

The BBC did recommend that all six multiplexes changed mode, but ITV and , who run Mux 2/D3&4, and S4C, who then ran Mux A, were not required to do so and decided to maintain the higher capacity at the cost of coverage. (ITV Digital had only operated Mux B, C and D. Freeview Ltd doesn't operate anything, it's a PR organization only.).

I'm not receiving ITV4 and Film4 so im guessing Mux D. Any ideas? we have a high grain and checked direction.

Hi, In anticipation of the move to we paid for a new which was professionally fitted - now out of the 3yr guarantee. All has been fine until last two weeks. Cannot recieve a good BBC service - interupts, blocking etc. Think we are pointed at , Before I call Engineers in again could it be related work or my aerial - seems to affect only those TVs recently retuned,
