John Ramsbottom. If yer receiving the Thetford relay on vertical polarisation then it is true only three mux's BBCA,D3+4,BBCB (HD) will only ever be transmitted as such. Are there any households in Thetford itself whose antennas are horizontally polarised directly receiving transmissions from Tacolneston itself.Unfortunately i'm off to bed very soon, but i am pleased that in Tacolneston region itself the switchover ran smoothly with few problems as such.Goodnight and happy viewing !

Yes Mark, yes some Thetford households have been receiving Tacolneston even with the (until now) reduced power of the digtal system. It generally depends on the height of the property above sea level. I'm quite low down but some of my neighbours received it using a high gain aerial on a high pole but even then it was iffy at times. They may as well continue to use Tacolneston as the signal is stronger anyway now and there are the extra muxes. I don't watch much TV so will probably stay on Thetford for the moment. It seems odd and a bit sad not being able to see the Ceefax weather this morning (although I took a photo of Wednesdays day and night forecast page yesterday!!). The digital text is ok but seems take longer to sort itself out than teletext. I also find the tendancy of only using a small part of the page for text on the digital system rather annoying.

I've done another scan and am surprised find I can now also receive the SDN multiplex fron Tacolneston on C42 with a decent signal level. I'm surprised because my aerial is pointing pretty much the wrong way! The fact that this channel is nearer to my aerial group than the other Tacolneston channels probably helps a lot.

Am using the Tacolneston transmitter - my post code is NR12 0UR.
Last night from about midnight through to about 4am I lost about 2/3rds of my digital channels. Most of the BBC stuff was available but practically everything else disappeared. Did a proper reset on my Sony digital PVR and Digital TV (freeview) but problem persisted. It finally all retuned at about 4am, but some channels{ie 4+1) were playing now you see me now you dont, every few seconds.Any ideas?

Tony: Do you have a signal booster/amplifier fitted? And if so, try removing it?

What is the signal strength like?

Did you get digital TV ok before switchover? How was your analogue reception?

Looking at Google Streetview, it does look like the church could be in the way for some of the houses.

Hi , I'm in IP13 7HZ, receiving from Tacolnston, got a C/D aerial and a Philips DTR220/05 box. I got all Freeview channels prior to the first switchover, then I lost BBCA, now after the second I can't get ArqA or B either! The other signals come in ok. I have done the full reset and tried with and without amp, with and without attenuator and turned off every piece of electrical equipment in the house but with no joy. Is it the box? Any ideas?

Adrian: Try carrying out this procedure:

My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

If that doesn't do the trick, try manually tuning. I found the instructions here:

http://download.p4c.phili….pdf

Page 16 sets out the procedure. For BBC, search for 55.
