KMJ,Derby: I assume you can see the Waltham transmitter? Can you check that it is actually running at 8 kW (i.e. similar signal strength to Mux A and B) and they haven't set it to post-switchover power level?

There was a report that pre-switchover HD services weren't working at Crystal Palace, which also use C31.

The interference level should have gone *down* on C31 because Nottingham C4 and Sandy Heath BBC One are no longer using the channel. Sandy Heath SDN has a pending move to C31 but that's supposed to happen at the end of August when Waltham stops using it. It feels like there's a cock-up somewhere.

The slight increase in frequency means that the received signal level would be slightly lower, but only around 1 dB. Aerials usually have more gain at C31 than at C23, at least 0.5 dB more. Most installations would have more headroom than this, and I'd expect people to be having problems with Mux C and D before and after these changes.

I'm not sure how to report the problem. Perhaps contact the BBC, or ITV's duty office? Broadcaster complaints details | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

I've spoken to Digital Uk and they are aware of the problem of some people losing Mux". The advice they currently have is to do a retune with no aerial connected, and then tune again with aerial. If that doesn't so the trick then a manual tune should do it (I don't know if they mean just on c31, or a full manual tune). I'm going to visit a customer later to try and sort her out on her Tv & DVD recoorder so I'll report back.

I have been doing manual retuning at various points in the day
if you follow the link in the Mike Dimmick post you get to this for ITV

"For Freview viewers that may be experiencing loss of service or receiving poor picture quality and breaks in reception. This is due to unusually high atmospheric pressure which can occur at this time of year.

We have made on-air announcements to advise viewers of the problem which is affecting all broadcasters. We understand that reception will return to normal as soon as the high pressure passes."

I now have broken ITV from channel 31 nothing from C29 or C33. I tried the digital UK fix mentioned in Steve's post and it didnt work for me I'm sad to say.

Getting very heavy red on the colour. Looks terrible plus occasional breaking up ever since 13th April. Aerial pointed at Waltham transmitter always has been but seem to be affected by the Nottingham switch over. Got the same just before the earlier retune but it went away now it been here a lot longer. Any reason for that? BTW why are we switching to a system that is affect so much by high pressure or are we just a stupid nation at heart?

Sorry to say the advice I as given earlier by Digital UK didn't work for my customer either. Her Filux (Vestel)Tv and Toshiba DVD Recorder are both failing to find anything on ch31, showing no signal at all.

All other mux are coming in OK, and it all worked fine before switchover, and I can find no sign of any co-channel interference. I guess the question is apart from the frequency change did anything else change yesterday?
