Yes, the Manchester Mux came back on sometime on Friday.
The film channels on there sometimes have something worth watching.
I guess we'll never know why it's been off-air - probably someone forgot to pay the bill!

Does anyone know why this is about one of the most laughable so-called 'improvements' in the history of mass-media?

Hello
We just moved in a property, FY8 4HP in Lytham and we have a weak signal on some channels. We have a freeview digital TV. We don't know where is it from. We retuned the channels and the problem is still there. Maybe is from the transmitter? Could you check the strenght of the signal?
Thanks.

You should be able to make that check yourself as your TV set should have that feature. But without a model number no one contributing here can give exact directions of how to do that.
Note that this website is not connected with the transmitter operators.

Are there any plans to increase the power of channels 31, 37 from the low 14kw? Parts of the Wirral can only receive Winter Hill and the Storeton relay only beams the Welsh in my direction. Can receive channel 31 from TV direct as there must be a booster in the Panasonic recorder, . The recorder gets no signal from Channel 31 or 37 so am unable to record programmes on these channels.

Jim Davies: The 14kW was apparently the earlier plan. According to Digital UK C31 now transmits at 24kW.
It wouldn't help you even if you could receive from Storeton because it doesn't carry COM7. Perhaps you need a booster to bring in COM7.
You probably need a wideband aerial, if you haven't already had one installed.

Jim Davies: If yours is one of the houses that has an aerial on Winter Hill and one on Moel-y-Parc and the feeds are combined then this combination hasn't been possible since the Winter Hill retune of 10th April 2013. In such circumstances I suggest that, assuming that you accept forfeitance of reception of the Moel-y-Parc signals, that the Moel-y-Parc aerial be turned to face Winter Hill. Whilst this might be a Group B one, and therefore not quite as good on C31, it might work well enough to mean you don't need a new aerial.

I'm just checking for my mother-in-law. She recently had a replacement aerial fitted. Since then she has had to keep retuning BBC 1. Postcode is FY5 2HF. Her aerial is pointing at the Winter Hill transmitter. Is anybody else having issues?
