Crystal Palace is terrible with all the hills. Midhurst is OK with MUX D being a bit intermittent. As for Guildford, even though I can almost see it, I found that lifting my aerial (UNIX 100) by five feet up made the difference between Mux 1 perfect, the rest none to all being perfect.

I don't really need the UNIX 100, I just got it cheap (£17). I also have a dat 75 on Midhurst, even though a log works fine. The DAT 75 is on a rotor, so I can DX.

According to the UKFreeterrain maps, I have a better line of sight to heathfield than crystal palace and Hannington. I get perfect analogue from Hannington with a 18 element unamplified contract aerial. To get crystal Palace I need a UNIX 100A on a 20ft guyed mast with a mast head amp just to get a signal.

Pedro dd: The terrain data here is too coarse to be useful. I use Terrain - shows radio profile between two UK sites to optimise you DTT, Freeview, DAB or analogue TV reception . That's still only accurate to 0.5km.
The terrain data at Wolfbane UK digital TV reception predictor is smoother but I'm not sure if it's more accurate, and you need a PostScript viewer to view it. I use RoPS from The RoPS PostScript Viewer but usually don't bother with Wolfbane since finding Megalithia's terrain data.
Do not pay any attention to the signal strength information or aerial recommendations from Wolfbane. There's some error in the calculations that makes the calculated voltages around 80 times smaller (38 dB) than they should be. (RG47SH)

Is it correct that every Friday evening the power levels at the transmitter are being reduced as a cost saving measure. It is clear that every Friday evening reception becomes almost impossible for any channel 4, Film 4 or related channel.

my post code is tn35 5ef can i get freeview from the Heathfield transmitter i know i can get it from the hastings one but itv3 keeps droping out along with other chanels on the same uhf band even tho i have 93 ss and 100sq i have a lg 32lh300 tv any healp wood very much appreshated
