Mike, Cheltenham 3 storey terrace aerial on pole on chimney. BBC 4 on 63 breaks up but perfect on ch28 prog 803. Sure it will be ok after 20th.

when i moved here[cheltenham] i had to get in tv aerial people as my bravia did not pick up to well a booster and aerial splitter were put on [4 tv`s]will i have to disconnect the booster when retuning on 20th?

caroline: If the signal strength now is showing very high you might have too much signal, the power increase is ten times for the PSB muxes and five times for the COM muxes. However if you are having no problem currently with high power MuxBBCA you should be ok after switchover step2.It is perfectly reasonable for some amplification to be used to run 4 tvs and the aerial installer should have installed equipment which would be ok after switchover. If you merely switch off the power or remove the power supply to the amplifier the tvs might mot work at all.

tv switchover team said that Ridge Hill have having problems .
I keep getting ''no signal'' across a perfect picture at times or the screen suddenly goes blank and I lose the channel. Have retuned every day ........sometimes several times a day. Engineers said my signal was fine .

I have retuned my TVs this morning and was very displeased to find that BBC1 West is not available from Ridge Hill. We do get it via Freesat and know that the local news coverage for North Gloucestershire is very good, but what is the point if it is not on Freeview? A really poor solution. I'm fed up with watching the Midlands news on BBC1.
