I had a power cut last night - and when turning on my Freeview HD box this morning I have lost channels BBC HD, BBC1 HD, ITV1 HD + Channel 4 HD.

Tried to retune numerous times, turn off at mains, reconnect aerial etc - but to no avail.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions. I removed the signal booster from the equation, but it made no difference except signal quality and strength peaks dropped significantly. I also tried replacing the coax cable from the wall socket into the HD recorder with a better quality one, but again that made no difference either. As I said, it's only been happening for about the last week or so, everything was fine prior to then.

I would guess if there is no work going on, and no changes to the HD mux at Emley Moor at present compared to a week or two ago, then it's probably down to atmospheric conditions. Roll on DSO in September. Thanks for the suggestions.

KevinH here in my location Bramham
I have had no trouble receiving HD channels from Emley Moor mast. May be their as been a little slight variation in a signal strength, but nothing to stop me receiving all multiplexes.

Our aerial is on the roof and was newly fitted when we bought a Technika LCD TV Receiver - LCD19HDiD-407W TV for our bedroom. We lost BBC1 & 2 all last summer when work was being carried out at Emley Moor. Since then the reception has been very poor with the picture breaking up on BBC1 & no reception on BBC2. Have retuned automatically and manually. Can you help?

Geraldine Douglas: I would have your aerial signal checked, you are predicted to have excellent reception from the Emley Moor transmitter.

I live near Selby and had bad reception during the mast work last year. All was fine after work ended---until just recently! All mux ratings below maximum are rubbish with pixilation and loss of sound. Please Emley Moor pay your electric bill and turn the power up...

Robert,I am pleased your reception is okay. Mine was until three weeks ago. My signal strength and quality bars are up and down like yo-yo's. I think the wind is blowing my multiplexes away ;-) I guess I will just have to be patient and wait for those extra Watts LOL.

exmedman: I would not depend on it, if there is a fault, the higher power transmissions will not result in better reception. Please see the Freeview reception has changed? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page for things to check.
