We received the digital channels fine until earlier this year Post code SP7 8HH. We then could only get a pixilated screen from channel 10 onwards, an ariel engineer checked our ariel, said it was fine and that stockland has reduced the signal to do upgrade work. When will this be finished please ? When can we expect good reception ? Many thanks,

Bernadette Pruden: The commercial multiplexes are on reduced power, but this is not for engineering work. It is to stop them harming the transmissions from another transmitter. From the channel allocations and the power-up date, it looks like it's the low-power PSB transmissions at Crystal Palace, and also Mux B at Rowridge.
The power will be increased on 18 April 2012. However, on the same date, Rowridge and Crystal Palace will start transmitting the commercial multiplexes at full power on those frequencies, so your reception is expected to get worse, not better.

Neil: There isnt really any ideal channel unless you are using the Sky boxes aerial input socket to feed a Freeview set in another room as well as it receiving the Sky boxes analogue signal.
That said though if you are in the Stockland Hill Freeview reception area then I would try a test using channels from 35 upwards.

The ITV1 service is correct, Westcountry.
However I have noticed that the ITV1+1 service is currently transmitting the Wales feed, not the Westcountry one.
Who is the contact to request that this be corrected?
Thanks

Derek Carpenter: Complain to ITV plc.
Basically they cheaped out and only bought enough delay equipment and monitoring for the six services they can fit on satellite.
Those services are:
Granada (Manchester)
Central West (Birmingham)
Wales
London
Meridian South-East (Maidstone)
Yorkshire West (Leeds)
You get the version that is part of the same advertising sales macro-region that you're part of. For you, this is the 'West' macro covering the old HTV West, HTV Wales and Westcountry regions.
The Meridian South-East service is transmitted to the entirety of the Meridian and Anglia regions (the South East macro), while Tyne Tees and all of Yorkshire get Yorkshire West. I'm not sure whether Border gets Yorkshire West or Granada. All of Central gets Central West.
