David Timm: An easy way to get over the problem is to first of all remove the aerial and carry out a re-scan without it, this for purposes of blanking out anything stored, then BEFORE re-connecting the the aerial carry out another re-tune whilst at the same time watching the channels rise in the progress bar, and when you see them passing Ch35 re-connect the aerial and that will allow BBC1 etc, etc, to load from Emley Moor.

Should you still have a problem after doing this then you might have to manually tune the channels required.

Bob: By being only 7 miles away from Emley you could be receiving a signal thats a little too strong for your particular TV or box being used, and although you havent mentioned as such, but if you have any form of booster fitted this should be removed other wise you might require an attenuator in line with the aerial socket. (these about £4.00 or so)

However you should first ensure that you are actually using a device with a DVB-T2 tuner, this being necessary for Freeview HD reception, so have look at the technical spec / tuner in the manual for whatever you are using.

PS: HD ready devices cannot receive HD transmissions.

a lot stronger and better now in Aspull in Wigan, still not 100 percent reliable but the signal strength now is more or less full on the itv multiplex's with just the odd glitch every so often just breaks when a motorbike goes past. it would be alright as a spare if winter hill ever went down. and I sometimes watch calendar news to. BBC mulitiplex signal fluxuates between an amber and green signal level so not bad concidering the Pennines are in the way.

hi, at my parents house, they live in york and have just had a new roof aerial fitted. they used to get the local news, ie..look north and calender, but since new aerial fitted they can only get look north border news and north east news. we re-turned the freeview box on the 21st hopeing this might solve the problem, but it never. i think they get the signal from belmont? any ideas on what i can do will be really helpfull.

Paul could the aeral be pointing towards the Bilsdale Transmitter? That might explain the local news your parents are getting. The signal from Emley Moor is now on full power, since Wednesday (21st).

Why can't we get ITV3 from Emley Moor? We watch this a lot. Can only get ITV 1, +1, ITV 2 but not 3.

Tanya Ann: Are you sure your aerial is pointed to Emley Moor and not the Skipton Town transmitter? The Skipton Town transmitter does not carry a full Freeview service.

Hope this helps,
Adam.
