Thank you, We have good from channel 44 but nothing from channel 41.

How do we go about fixing this? is it the position of our ariel or do we need a new one maybe?

BTW I was mistaken about film4 we do have that, it just the HD I am missing.

Gem: I wouldn't be suspecting the at this stage.

Can you go to 41 manually? Page 13 of the manual suggests that you can and see the strength/ for it.

Have you got anything else connected to your aerial (e.g. does it go via a box or )? Do you have another (preferably -top/fixed) aerial you could try which supplies another room?

What percentage signal strength are you getting on the multiplexes you pick up? Check out BBC1, ITV1, ITV2, Pick TV and Yesterday as these are all on different multiplexes.

I've started to get a message today saying I'm going to lose on 23rd November. I thought was now complete? Is there still further work to do?
Also - on some channels (mostly ITV) i get the bessage box after changing channels, but it just says "Msg". Pressing yellow clears it but it's blooming annoying! It only happens on my LG 50" plasma Other tellys in the house are fine. any ideas?

However, 23rd November is the date that some of the channels from (in Lincolnshire) changes, which could perhaps explain that message.

If the main channels you have stored aren't from Belmont, then perhaps those in the 800s are and the message pertains to them.

When I check signal for channel UHF 41 there is nothing. strength or .

Most of the other show excellent signal quality and reasonable strength (about half it's potential).

Channel UHF 47 is a problem, mostly in the evenings but sometimes during the day too. It shows 'excellent' quality although unlike the other channels you can actually see the bar fluctuation. The signal strength seems to remain constant, but isn't very strong, it's just about in the yellow band but can drop into the red band.

Watching BBC channels is frustrating, the freezes for a second or so every few seconds. I don't have this problem on my other (Older) box though which is odd!

We don't have sky etc, and everything else inc DVD player is generally turned off at the when not in use. We just have the one ariel as only one TV in the house.
I do have a mains powered portable ariel that we used to use upstairs, would that be worth trying do you think? I assumed it wouldn't be enough for TV (not that I know anything about these things!)

Hi Gem, if you've tried plugging the Philips HD box straight into socket (you say you don't have , so I guess it doesn't go through anything else anyway), then I come to the conclusion that you will have to get someone in to replace your aerial.

What was the like on the ? Also, what was the digital reception like before ?

I believe that I've located the cause of your problems. Ideally, your aerial needs line of sight with the . In cases where there isn't, that's not to say that it won't work. It merely increases the chances of having issues.

I used a website to plot the path from your location to the transmitter. Unfortunately the ground goes up towards Brierley Gap (the red lines indicate where sight is blocked):

I then went to Google Streetview and looked down Saxon Mount and found larger the normal aerials on Emley, some on high masts. Some houses have decided to point their aerials at instead. This rather confirms what I found about the terrain going upwards around Brierley Gap.

Clearly others on your estate will have the same issue.

I therefore suggest that you look at having your aerial replaced.

Hi did anybody else's ITV1 go off for about 30 seconds this evening the 24th of November at about 5:55- 6 PM just before the news when it came back the was weak for a futher 30 seconds then went back to full strength. I am in Aspull Wigan WN2 1SZ and usally get full strength on ITV1 since the on emily more. thanks in advance. and yes i do know before anyone says that my local is lol
