Dave & Steve - Thanks for your responses, I think the attenuator may be an option, the variable type. The signal strength is currently at around 45% with quality of around 45% on BBC at present, though it has dropped to 0-10% in the last few days - I had never considered that a signal could be too strong showing a weak signal! Strange though that ITV seems to remain at 65%ish strength with 100% quality, consistantly. I will try the attenuator, failing that an aerial man seems the best option.

Many Thanks

Peter M.

I am in ST7 4UB and get freeview from the Wrekin, including HD, although on the map above we are in about the weakest possible area. Most channels are good but we loose those on ARQ A from time to time.
Whilst there are trees behind the house these do not affect the other channels except in very high winds when some other channels break up a bit. Is the complete loss of reception due to the specification of ARQ A rather than my aerial reception? From the info above it looks very little different from ARQ B. (We can watch internet TV now but it is inconvenient and slow changing channels and we can't avoid the Ads!)

... UK digital TV reception predictor

This place says you would be far better off using Fenton! Is yours a large postcode area?

Otherwise, do you have a decent rooftop amplified aerial?

No obvious reason why ArqA worse than B, but your aerial might be better at some frequencies than others.

HI Steve P, We are in a row of bungalows,we have a rooftop aerial but it is not boosted. Next door gets the Wrekin with a boosted aerial, next door but one points to Fenton, but our aerial man could not get anything from Fenton. There is just one street of 24 houses in the postcode. The annoying thing is that we had all the freeview stations about five years ago(when the aerial was put up) but reception has just got worse rather than better.I suppose we have got to have the aerial man back! Thanks for your reply.

Might be worth trying a cheap booster. They are not as good as masttop ones but sometimes do the trick.

Anyone else in Stoke having issues from the Wrekin transmitter today.

I have lost all bbc and ITV channels all day today, I use Windows Media Centre as my tv and checked all connections and rescanned channels.

Interestingly MCE picked up a new set of BBC channels last night on a new frequency 790 if i remember right.

My SamsungTV has lost them as well if I put the ariel into that.

My friend 2 doors down is having the same issues as me so I dont think it is my kit.

Any help would be great
