Wonder if anyone else has had the problem that, on BBC1 , there is no sound at switch on at the hdr and separate tv. After switching off the Humax hdr and the tv the sound came back. Could it be tied up with the changes that are taking place clobbering the tv software?

I'm a little confused about the increase on the transmiiter after the changeover. Am I right that the power will increase to 200kW from 21st March but only on the vertically polarised ?

Chris_T: Yes that's quite correct, as Rowridges commercial Mux's on horizontal polarity will only be running with an ERP of 50Kw compared to the main PSB transmitters on 200Kw, as indeed are all of the multiplexes transmitting on Rowridges vertical polarity.

The 50Kw from being necessary as also uses the same on their horizontally polarised commercial multiplexes.

I underrstand is on the 7th, but at what time? I want to set the recorder to run at 10am for 2hrs before I leave at 09:15hrs before I leave at 10:00. Will the switchover be complete by then??

Solent-Viewer: The first stage of is on 7th and is expected to be completed by 6am (probably before if all goes smoothly).

Having retuned your , you may well find that the timer programmes will be lost.

At the first stage of switchover BBC Two will be switched off and BBC definition digital will move to being full . All other channels will stay as they are.

should be switched (barring disaster!) by 6AM on the 7th. In practise,
it will probably be before that. Don't forget to retune before setting your recorder, as the BBC will move to the currently occupied by BBC2 .
