Peter Hall, can I suggest you read the posting of Dave Lindsay above. It explains the thing to do if you need to scan your TV as he explains Bilsdale all-digital channels will be on much higher power, and you may need to do a manual scan! I know you said about East Yorkshire, but it still applies. Do a manual scan. I suggest.

this afternoon here in Aspull Wigan the signal has gone terrible, especially on the bbc not watchable. Is this due to ongoing transmitter works and why are they doing more work.

Everything back up and fine again now here In Aspull Wigan, just the bbc multiplex signal quality fluctuating as it normally dose in bad weather anyway But back to normal here. Must of been the current engineering works that was the problem. Dose anyone know if c48 multiplex will be going to the same strength as the rest of them now Bilsdale has gone over?

David Parker, At the moment my home is a building site, everything but absolute necessities is in storage and nothing but the kettle, the fridge, the microwave and my computer plus a chair in the place. I will have to look into Bilsdale at some later date, approx 5 weeks to completion they say. Best regards to all contributors.

This is very irritating because i have spent a lot of money on buying the signal booster, new telly, and various leads. But still my TV is tempromental. This is not right ! the old anolog way did not ever do this. please can someone help me because I am missing the shows that I intend to watch and just want to be able to watch tv without any stress.

janet denton: What reception problems are you having? The most likely answer in the area is that your receiver has tuned to the Belmont transmitter instead of Emley Moor and therefore it is this which needs correcting.

Not a complaint but an observation since Bilsdale went high power. I use Emley Moor OK but as the quality of signals I get from Bilsdale off the rear of the Emley antenna(Wide band BTW) is good but variable, after an auto re-scan I get the choice of areas to use on my Humax HDR-Fox T2. All well and good you may think. Yes - until I use a red button service when I find that '302' is actually using a Bilsdale channel in the 800 area. Is this a Humax problem or a broadcaster's problem? Until it's sorted I have done a complete factory default, stopped its auto-scan and manually scanned the Emley channels.

I live within a few miles of Emley Moor and have always had a good signal - strength of 100%, quality 80% or more. Since 12th September, the signal quality (only) has dropped to between 0% and 40%. My main TV can't cope and is unwatchable at certain times of the day (evenings mainly). My computer TV card also struggles to show channels. My cheapo Tesco tv for the kids works perfectly of course!

I haven't yet checked the aerial itself (not having a ladder tall enough or wanting to pay someone to do it for me), but I notice that the NE went digital on the 12th - could there be a connection? Any suggestions as to likely cause before I start spending money?

Many thanks
Colin
