Dave - Thanks again for the tip. Guess what - friend has found a set-top aerial in the cellar and have now got one TV going - everything now even including ITV3 and 5* - signal a little unsteady though. Will give the coathanger a go on the others...

louise: If all channels now give poor reception when they were all OK prior to the re-tune it suggests that possibly you are storing the channels from an alternative transmitter with each scan; Wenvoe most likely in the Bristol area or more towards the South of the region Stockland Hill or Rowridge could be delivering alternative signals. Check the frequency for each mux that you have stored, often shown on the relevant info screen. For Mendip BBC1 should be on C49, ITV should be C54, QVC (C48), Sky News (C56) and Film4 (C52). You could try doing a scan with the aerial unplugged for the first part of the scan in order to miss out alternative transmitters on lower frequencies, making sure it is plugged in before C48 for the Mendip frequencies.

So i take it those of us in the Taunton, Wellington area are not to have BBC for the foreseeable future then as no one seems to be taking us seriously about there being a problem?
Ive tried all the channels you suggested to others but nothing is picking up, I've set the tv back to factory settings, there's just no BBC channels!

Since the retune on 27th March at Mendip, we have good signal and no inteference on all channels. However, whenever we use our Techwood digi recorder to record any channel, picture on channel we are watching jumps. Any recordings are also impossible to watch. We never experienced problems prior to 27th. Any ideas?

chloe: If you do a manual tune and enter C49 what strength and quality is shown for the signal? What kind of aerial are you using, is it a communal one or do you have two aerials combined for reception from two transmitters? Do you receive ITV3 and QVC OK on C48? Further advice can be given with this information.

We have one digital aerial put up a few years ago for just our house to use and only one tv connected which does not need a digital topbox. I have reset the tv again back to factory settings this morning and still nothing. Ch49 is red and showing around 1mhz for signal quality and grey with around 2mhz for signal strength. Ch48 has no signal quality at all and the same signal strength as C49. ITV3 works but is not the best picture the same with QVC, in fact all the stations seem much weaker than before. I have channels starting from ITV-ITV3 (3-6) then nothing till Pick tv on 11. Really don't know what more I can do to get back the BBC channels and the quality back on the others!
