Steve Cheshire: Do check whether the aerial is pointing to Olivers' Mount. It could alternatively be pointing to Bilsdale, where the predicted service is very weak.

Even if pointing to Olivers' Mount, the box could be picking up a weak signal from Bilsdale or Belmont rather than the wanted service. See Digital Region Overlap on how to resolve overlap problems.

Many thanks to Dave and Mike. I followed the link regarding problems with too much signal and I will try the suggestions - removing the booster / fitting attenuator etc. I will also recheck the power and quality of the MUXs via the BTVision box.

As I am no electrical engineer, if I do need to call on a professional can anyone recommend someone in the Scarborough area who would understand the local issues?

Thanks again

Steve

Steve Cheshire: I can't help you with regards an installer in your area. Personally I would search the internet. Someone who has a website and one which looks as though they know and have an interest in what they're dealing in.

Jean Crossan: Pull the aerial out for the first 50% of the scan.

Any issues, post back what they are and I will make another suggestion.

Jean Crossan: Although as Dave Lindsay has said you should really provide the model number of the TV involved to enable its menu system to be checked out, but "if" your TV has a "manual tuning" facility (check this in the set up menu / tuning) remove the aerial and carry out an auto tune without this being connected for the purpose of deleting anything stored, then go into the tuning menu / manual tune and enter the following mux channels one at a time and storing the results before moving onto the next mux channel.

Oliver's Mount mux channels being /

Ch57 (BBC) - 60 (ITV1 etc) - 53 (HD mux) - 54 (ITV3 etc) - 58 (Pick TV etc) - 49 (Film 4 etc)

Hi,
I live in Filey and pick up both Tyne Tees and YTV.
Once tuning is complete check through the menu system to see if you can select the area for reception.
Some TV's will show Yorkshire and then North Yorkshire.
Make sure you select Yorkshire and not North Yorkshire.

Scarborough

Hi,
I receive my TV from Scarborough (Olivers Mount) transmitter. All the MUX's are in the 700 MHZ section, C49 - C60. My question is will we receive the new HD channels, BBC4, BBC3 etc. We would seem to have enough capacity being that the following MUX's are free, 50,51,52,55,and 59, plus 56 is allocated to a local channel, I assume that more channels could go on that MUX. Thanks in advance.
