mandy : The aerial system will have a powered amplifier for distribution of the feed from the aerial. The likely answer is that either it has failed or there is no power to it. Either way it is down to the party responsible for the aerial system to put it right or have it put right. It may be worth speaking to your landlord, although clearly there isn't likely to be anything done about it today.

The HD channels from the Hastings transmitter flicker from time to time, very quick to a black screen then back to output. It doesn't affect the sound just picture. Is this a problem experienced by anyone else?

Hastings - Channel 700-710 problems + BBC SD services not working (1,2, bbc3,bbc4).
All other TV channels fine. BBC HD working OK.
DAB radio works without issue.
Tried retuning, finds channels but they just all say no signal.

Thanks, I'm onto something :) with helpful hints from Hollington Pk thread.
Seems I'm not on Hollington park (bad reception despite being close) but Hastings.
The problem is when I use auto tuning it uses ch24 for bbca when it should be using ch25.
Why this has changed I don't know, and as I said was fine before. All good now though until next glitch.
My tv has an LNA setting, it now says 25 and it's on. Before it was 22 I think. How it got to this ??? I can't see any way to even set it. does ch22 transmit the wrong info to tell my tv how to tune?
So, I did a test, Turned it off again and did a rescan. Still managed to set itself to 25.
I can't set a 'zone' i.e. Kent, but i do have digital auto service update. Clearly something got out of whack, whether it be a mistake or a different transmitter ot something I don't know. No local transmitters with 24 at all, so it's a mystery :)
Tv is 1yr old Sony bravia with latest firmware etc. no changes before problem at all!

I am living at BN23 7AD and using the Hastings Transmitter (Roof Aerial) and am currently experiencing picture break-up only on ITV4. This happens mostly during the day and is usually OK at night. Could this be due to some interference.

Tim Kaye: I suggest that, if possible, you use Heathfield instead.
Hastings' COM channels (which carry ITV3, Pick TV, Film4, ITV4, Dave and others) are co-channel (same frequencies) with the Public Service (PSB) channels of the Eastbourne relay transmitter which is on the top of South Cliff Tower.
Unfortunately the COM channels are only available from the larger transmitters and the channels they are allocated are often re-used in closer proximity than the PSB channels. For this reason not everyone can pick them up reliably, or at all.
In your general area it may be beneficial to change to using Heathfield in order to receive all channels.

We have digital tv and a humax freeview box, a roof aerial and a 2 way aerial amplifier.
Over the last five days the signal has broken up making watching almost pointless. We reset both the tv and humax box and have restored the bbc and itv channels but not the channels above number 10 including sky news, RT and al jaziira.
There has been no reported problems with the Hastings transmitter.
Have you any advice ?
Thank you.
