Christine Clarke : Just a thought! but that said was based on the assumption that the query involving reception at Wimbledon Park was "not" being made purely on your experience when trying to use the TV outdoors on a day trip or whatever? because if it was, then the only way of possibly rectifying the situation is by moving around, this being where pre-tuning the TV would be a decided advantage.

Hi,
Over the last 2 days my freeview has lost picture but the sound is still on. Error message: No video 514.000 mhz
Any ideas whats happened? It worked perfectly fine before. I live in W2.

Phil: If you are referring to a Freeview TV and which has already been disconnected from the mains (or completely switched off) and the situation has remained the same, then carry out a "factory reset" on it followed by an auto-tune, this procedure also known as "default setting" or some similar sounding term.
If though you are using a Freeview box coupled into a TV, then check that the lead coupling both devices together is still firmly seated into their respective sockets, if they are, then carry out that said in the first paragraph but on the box.

My Recorder stated on the TV screen, that there was a new channel (or programme?). I updated the Chanel List.
I no longer have BBC4HD and other HD programmes on this channel, Channel 33.
I see on the Television, which uses the same aerial, that the Channel 33 signal strength is much lower than other Channels.
Is the Channel 33 transmitter not at full strength at the moment?, and if so when will it be corrected?
I had not noticed previously which Channel, BBC4HD had been on, and have been recording the programmes for some time.
Have these recently moved to Channel 33?

John Dann: You should try carrying out a "manual" scan on Mux C33, as sometimes than will capture a weaker signal that the auto-tuning process is inclined to bypass.
On the subject of Mux C33 on the COM7 transmitter, BBC4 HD has always been on this Mux channel along with BBC News HD, Al Jazerra etc, etc, COM7 only radiating on 15.6Kw whereas the other Muxes are on 200Kw which could account for the lower signal strength being received, although this increaes to just over 43Kw on September 3rd.

Thank you for your help.Why do the COM7 channels constantly drop in and out on my HD TV.Certain times the signal seems full strength and certain times shows "loss of signal".Since last niight 18th May they've disappeared completely yet have been mostly fine for weeks.Please help.

The clue is in your post when you talk about 'sometimes full strength'. That means you have too much signal strength and the set is struggling to maintain your viewing. You need to reduce that signal strength until you get relaible reception and display of the programmes. An adjustable attenuator, such as the one shown at http://www.amazon.co.uk/L…YPY, would probably help. Start by connecting it at the aerial input socket at the back of your TV set (or Freeview box if you use one) and gradually reduce the signal until you have all programmes reliably.
Other adjustable UHF attenuators are available.

Rosemary: If your tuned to Crystal Palace, you should do. The engineering works took place very early in the morning, for obvious reasons. Check your aerial.

Hi, we keep getting 'No Signal' issues in Hertford. Has been occurring since Thursday, affecting different channels at different times. Retuned this morning and got c12 channels, no radio. Retuned 20 mins later, now c26 channels with some radio. Totally sporadic and intermittent. Normally have all channels no problem.
