We have freeview on our television. The picture has been showing horizontal picture updating and the sound interrupted. This started last Sunday around 6pm. We have a satellite dish and so we have been able to watch TV, but it is restricted to the channels it picks up. Today when I switched on the television at 3pm it he picture is breaking up horizontally and the sound quality very poor.
We have followed your advice as given on the website.
Can you resolve the cause of the problem?

All afternoon the signal on BBC1 and BBC2 has been coming and going at 5pm it is still either a blank screen or pixilated with periods of normal service for short periods.
Can this be addressed please

I am not receiving the Horror Channel (70), CBS Action (64) or Quest+1 (38) Spike (31) De ja Vue (25) Four7 (47) Yesterday (19) since last night (05/11/15). Have had no problems before this time. My aerial mounted at the rear of the property and is in good order. No changes to my TV. Retuning made no difference and same with both my Freeview HD recorders.
Have you stopped transmitting these channels? Appreciate any info you have.

Sorry, meant to add I am in Eastbourne, aerial in direct line-of-site of Heathfield Transmitter and receive a good, strong signal.

All of a sudden very weak signals on C41 (634 MHZ). All stations unwatchable. Just like previous post from Steven Szulecki, but In the opposite direction i.e. Goudhurst, Kent, not other frequencies effected.

Steven Szulecki: Nothing as yet, is listed against Heathfield on the engineering notice board, more than one check having been carried out.
Taking your location into consideration, the problem "might" possibly be caused by single channel interference from one of the French transmitters using the same Mux frequency (C41/634.0Mhz) as Heathfield's COM6, the offending signal being received on the rear of your aerial, as signals from French stations can reach parts of the UK's Southern Coastline in exactly the same way as does the signal from Heathfield (or Rowridge) in France.

Steven Szulecki: Exactly the same problem, with exactly the same timing, in Haywards Heath. My aerial points east-west, so interference from French transmitters seems a less plausible explanation.

Phil Bailey : Me having mentioned "the rear of the aerial" was said specific to the direction that Steven Szulecki's aerial would be facing, ie: around 348 degrees, an angle which could "possibly" make the problem experienced by same slightly worse, that is, "if" said problem is indeed being caused by interference from a French transmitter.
But though, when dealing with interference of this nature it doesn't really matter what direction an aerial happens to be facing, as the offending signal is beamed down from above via the inversion effect, likewise is in most cases, picked up directly by the actual receiving element on the aerial (immediately in front of the reflector) irrespective of what direction the actual aerial elements happens to be facing.
I am really a bit surprised at the lack of complaints of this nature having been made at this time of year, as viewers who reside along the South Easterly coastline stretching towards Dover complaining about problems with reception, have been commonplace in recent years. (not necessarily only on this site)

There have been many recent reports of such reception problems, and there have been many reports of atmospheric affects that can cause just the situation you report. So it is quite likely that the well known 'temperature inversion' effect may well be causing your problems. In such a situation do NOT try to retune your equipment as you are likely to lose even more channels.
