It has been suggested that the recent warm days have given rise to atmospheric conditions that can disrupt TV reception. As there are many similar reports from around the southern part of the UK, that would seem to be quite likely. Do NOT retune your TV set under such situation.

Can anyone help please. I'm losing reception on HD channels. This started last week and there was a couple of comments about high pressure. There is still high pressure but surprised there are few comments about reception. As such wondering if its my equipment. There are some confusing statements about Sandy Heath transmitter. This web site suggests possible weak signal, but this is not mirrored on the BBC or Freeview web site! I live near Cambridge.

Transmitter engineering: Looks like it's only on Mux BSP3. BBC4 HD fine.

Coach:

Many people in the southern part of the UK had reported reception problems and most now have normal reception as the weather pattern resulting in the temperature inversion is moving away from the UK.

The phenomen are entirely natural and there is nothing anyone can do to prevent the effects disrupting reception of TV signals and others. Now that the strong storm is affecting parts of the UK, appearing to be mainly up the western side (hence storm/flood warnings in Cumbria and Lancashire) the high pressure effect should now be diminishing.

Did you try a retune during the high pressure period? If so you will need to do a retune to recover the services lost by that retune. Note though that there was reported engineering on Wednesday but I have no knowledge of when/if that is completed.

Hi, for the last 2 weeks I have my freeview completely disrupted, even now. It's all weak signal to no signal at all and when there is signal it's all pixelated with intermittent sound. I have no one to check if they are having same problems. I live in Wisbech PE13 2JA. I need to know if this is the transmitter. Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone assist please? I've had trouble with the breakup of picture on some HD channels for several weeks. Signal jumping around from 60 to 70% with signal quality at 100%. Other HD channels where the picture does not break up is around 90 to 95% with signal quality at 100%. This Web site has reported that Sandy Heath "maybe" at reduced strength. What does that mean because neither the BBC or Freeview state this. Thanks
