re CBSDrama: Of course that mean you can't now watch the channel as the Redruth transmitter doesn't carry com7 and com8..

Recently started having very poor reception on BBC A (Channel 44) from Redruth - Quality 1/5, conversely D3&4 (Channel 41) is good quality 5/5. Why good reception on some channels but not others from same transmitter?
Postcode TR4 8DJ, aerial is in the loft/roof space - online guidance initially suggested we should get reception from Porthtowan relay but large hill in direct line-of-sight so no signal whatsoever on Channels 27 / 24 / 21 - hence using Redruth transmitter.

Our TVs are all indicating weak or low signal on all Channels since yesterday (16th) morning.
We are in Constantine and our aerial receives from Redruth.
Can you say if this could be due to a fault at your end please?
Regards
D. Thomson

David Thomson: There is currently a notice of possible weak signal from Redruth due to engineering work. Do not attempt to retune, signal levels will return to normal when the work is completed.

Hi we are in the Fraddon area. Have had the Tv on this afternoon, all fine. Have returned home this evening no signal on both Tv's. Have done a reset. No channels have been found. The same thing happened last night. This is with Freeview. Have fixed aerial in loft and have now tried with a different plug in aerial, still No signal.
Any help would be grateful.

Cheers
Mark

M Davis: Look at the top of the page - it says there are no problems with the transmitter. You can put your postcode into the site and it will give a link to check further, and check which transmitter you might be using, but although thats sometimes wrong or slow to update, but mostly, transmitters are very reliable. So check with others in the area, but if they are getting a signal, then its you.
Wires get frayed, rain gets into joints, and the weather batters the aerial and cables. If you've put a portable aerial into the TV and there is nothing, then its more likely to be the transmitter, but nothing is showing up yet, and if its been like that for 24 hours, thats almost certainly your system.

P de havilland:

We need a full post code so that we can examine the transmission and reception conditions at your specific locality.

There are no problems reported for the Redruth transmitter at present, so you may have a fault with your aerial or equipment.

Hi,

We take our freeview via a rooftop aerial and mast head booster, though I don't know quite when in the last few months we seem to have lost all the stations on 'COM5 ArqA H -3dB C52 (722.0MHz) 400m DTG-8' though we noticed the sudden disappearance of stations 11 & 12 and a few of the others, at the time it wasn't a problem but now we would like to watch programmes on channel 52. I've tried retuning both freeview enabled tv and digital recorder and though both complete a full retune including channel 52 none of the stations has reappeared.

Is this a known problem or can we do something else to restore the stations.

Any help or advice most gratefully received.
