The symbol shows the location of the Winter Hill (Bolton, England) transmitter which serves 2,690,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Winter Hill (Bolton, England) mast?

I'm not sure if posting a link to another website is allowed, but I was curious as to the above DVB identifiers. A search led me to:-
DVB Services
where these identifiers and descriptors are explained.
However finding a maintained current list of TSIDs (Transport Stream Identifiers) has proved to be rather more difficult...

StevensOnln1: Yes, that's the right answer to the wrong question.

What I meant was: does the list include all the Local Multiplexes? How many Comux Local Multiplexes are there?

There are three Comux Local Multiplexes emanating from Winter Hill:

Local Multiplex
ONID.TSID = 233A.8008
754 MHz, uhf 56, 8 MHz, QPSK, 8k, 3/4, 1/32

Local Multiplex

The descriptors referencing other TSIDs than 8008, 800B and 800D are extraneous to Winter Hill.

Only these are relevant to Winter Hill:

True Christmas relocated from 233A.8008.8280 (Local Multiplex) to 233A.6040.6CE0 (Arqiva B)
True Christmas relocated from 233A.800B.8280 (Local Multiplex) to 233A.6040.6CE0 (Arqiva B)
True Christmas relocated from 233A.800D.8280 (Local Multiplex) to 233A.6040.6CE0 (Arqiva B)

The descriptors are present in the SDT entry for True Christmas on Arqiva B.

Arqiva B is apparently the same in all regions so the descriptors appropriate for all regions need to be present in and for that multiplex.

woz: I had a look at the site you linked to.

I think TSIDs are probably arbitrary within an ONID.

It would be nice to get a complete picture of the terrestrial network.

woz: The same kind of thing happens with the HD Simulcast Linkage descriptors in the EIT.

On UK DVB-T, only BBC and Channel 5 are currently using these 'Also in HD' descriptors.

Eleven BBC B TSIDs are referenced by Channel 5.

Ten BBC B TSIDs are referenced by BBC ONE N West.

Just one BBC B TSID 40BE, is referenced by BBC ONE Wales, so that must be the TSID of BBC B for Wales.

Two com7 TSIDs, A000 and A001, are referenced by BBC FOUR.

Here are some examples:

gordon holt: Youview boxes are capable of receiving all Freeview HD channels. COM7 (the multiplex which carries BBC 4 HD and BBC News HD) should have excellent reception at your location just 25km from the Winter Hill transmitter. Most likely you are either suffering with signal overload (search for article "Too much of a good thing" on this website) or you have an older group C/D aerial which was designed for receiving frequencies in the higher end of the UHF band (COM7 is broadcast on C31 from Winter Hill which is well below the frequency range a group C/D aerial was designed to receive).

I have two Samsung Smart TVs. One receives a signal directly from the aerial and to my knowledge has 'collected' all of the available channels. The other TV which is power-boosted a short distance away appears to receive all channels with the exception of Channel 81 Talking Pictures and Channel 82 Vintage TV. I have tried several ways for this TV to 'pull in' those channels but all attempts have failed. Are those two channels somewhat weaker than the rest and the signal booster is the decider on whether or not they get successfully tuned? Kind regards and advanced thanks.
