To offer any useful advice we need to know what make and model of 'Digital HDD recorder' you are using. They vary quite a lot internally between makes so may behave differently.

Hi why can't i receive Tiny tots , vintage TV & talking pictures. It's so annoying that i cant receive the same channels as people can in the cities. When they don't pay any difference in TV licence and receive more channels? my location is galashiels Scottish borders.

Kevin : None of those channels are funded by your TV licence, which is a licence to receive TV in your home and is not a subscription to receive any particular channels. The broadcasters of the channels you mentions have for their own commercial reasons all opted to broadcast their channels with reduced coverage compared to other commercials channels on Freeview. All of them are available free to air via satellite on Freesat or Sky, without needing a subscription.

Ciaron Drain: There are no faults showing for Selkirk and you wouldn't be the only person to notice if there was a major fault at the transmitter so the fault is likely to be something in your aerial system. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and do not attempt to retune as this will not fix a loss of signal and will likely make the problem worse.

Christine Clarkson:
Please check all your aerial cables and connections to ensure they are making good contact inside the sockets. Also try turning all your TV equipment off at the mains socket, wait five minutes and turn on again. After a further five minutes check to see what channels you can get. If that does not solve the problem your system has a fault that needs to be looked at by a qualified contractor.
