Gareth . sorry I read north west Suffolk ! north east suffolk ( say west of Southwold) the transmitter would be Tacolneston . From the coverage checker seems that an outdoor amplified aerial is needed. Preferably a type K aerial though B or E should work.

I find the DigitalUK coverage predictions hard to fathom. Here they show the main six MUXes (100kW) in the orange ('variable reception') category but COM7/8 (27kW/24kW) in the green ('good reception') category. What would explain the lower-powered services providing better reception than the higher-powered ones, at the same distance? It's definitely not what we experience in practice (COM7 is not receivable and COM8 is marginal).

What's happened to BBC News HD and several nearby HD channels? These have gone missing today (09/06/2018) - North of Norwich. Re-tuning is not the answer!

Hello,
I had to retune because the people who run the Tacolneston transmitter made that a necessity. How I cannot receive BBC 4, but all the other ones are fine. Prior to this I could receive them all. So I quite the program and re booted my PC before retuning but to no avail. So what next? Should I try to retune after 7PM when the channel is transmitting? Any ideas? Thanks, Keith

I'm not happy with losing BBC News HD, formerly of com-7 Channel 31 (554.0MHz)

Will this channel be reinstated in future from Tacolneston? My postcode: NR4 7SF (loft aerial)

Peter Chamberlin:

BBC News HD is on Com7 which is now on channel 55 (Com 8 is on channel 56). It could be that your original aerial is unable to receive thee higher channels, hence the apparent loss of the service. You need to retune and check what reception of Com 7 is like on channel 55. If it is weak, then you need a wideband aerial installed. If you do not have a satellite service or cable, then you may qualify for a free aerial replacement by contacting 0808 100 0288 which is the Freeview Advice Line number.

Christopher & Yvonne Thrower:

Have you done a full retune? Some changes were implimented over night and you need a retune to get your channels back. You may also need an aaerial change to get channels 55 and 56 for Com 6 and Com 7 services as you existing aerrial may not receive them now.
