Oliver Gunnell:

According to DigitalUK, currently COM7 is transmitting with 22.907kW on UHF Ch.55 and COM8 with 22.6kW on UHF Ch.31. COM8 is due to move to Ch.56 in Q1 2020.
UHF Chs.55 & 56 will be shared by all transmitters for COMs 7 & 8 by end of 2020.
It is likely that as you are in a fringe area, your lack of reception of COM7 is due to interference from other transmitters already on Ch.55 but as MikeP has already said, if you provide your full postcode then predicted reception can be checked.

Thanks for your reply's my postcode is SK13 8NB, I have now changed from a loft mounted Unix 32, to a K group 18 Element Yagi externally mounted, to try to cover all bases upto and after the 700mhz clearance.

I can now get Com 7 at about 57% signal strength vs Com 8 at about 86%, until now I wasn't aware Com7 being on channel 55, from memory 55 was always abit poor at my location going back to the early Ondigital days on even a C/D Unix 52 from memory now long-gone.

For reference on ch59 a 100kw mux i get about 90% signal strength and 92% on ch49 also 100kw, I guess thats due to the gain falling off on the higher frequency's

Winter Hill - com6 746MHz appears to tune as DVB-T2... I'm confused. Signal test menu in my LG TV shows following rcv parameters: DVB-T2 and QAM256.... this seems to be in contradiction with listed data....
Anyone has some idea why?

Chris Ham:

The BBCA multiplex is on channel 50, the D3&4 multiplex is on 59, the BBCB multiplex is on channel 54-, the SDN multiplex is on channel 58, the ARQA multiplex is on channel 49, the ARQB multiplex is on channel 37, COM7 is on channel 55 and COM8 is on channel 31. There is no COM6 multiplex. Currently only the BBCB, COM7 and COM8 multiplexes are broadcasting using DVB-T2 encoding, all the others are using DVB-T encoding.

I assumed that you are referring to the ArqB mux aka COM6 but you are also talking about 746Mhz which is UHF55 and is now COM7 (as mentioned by MikeP) which is indeed DVB-T2. The listing on this site is out of date.
You would be best referring to DigitalUK site for Winter Hill - put your postcode in here - Digital UK - Coverage checker

Susan Parkes: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Are any other channels missing? Was it working before you carried out any manual tuning? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see the predicted coverage at your location.
