I agree with you it is very annoying when this happens (even when you know it can/will). Unless you complain to the operator as MikerP has suggested, nothing will change! The muxes all came back shortly before 0330.
Advice to you and everyone, re-tuning should ALWAYS be the LAST RESORT and only then if you have checked all else.
If you have lost signal to more than one set then retuning should NOT be carried out (unless you know a transmitter re-tune event has occurred and they are usually messaged on-screen days before the event and can be checked on-line).
IF you seem to have lost signal, the first check to see if ALL channels/muxes have lost signal. If some are still being received, this reduces the chances it might be your aerial system or connections, BUT movements in aerial and bad connections can sometimes have this effect. Use your set tuning system (where possible) to check the strength and quality of the signals you are receiving, if they are normal, then check for transmitter maintenance or faults. Also plug out and in any aerial connectors/flyleads which may help if there's a "dirty" connection. Also consider swapping/replacing a flylead in case it's gone faulty - it can happen.

I'm on the Mendip Transmitter.
Freeview
The last 2 or 3 weeks I've noticed that when using the series link for BBC 2 HD Newsnight, the start and finish signal is not sent anymore.
The end of the programme is now missed.
Any idea if there is a problem somewhere?

Cant receive C32 and C34 since last night. All channels on these frequencies have disappeared. Have tried retuning and there's no signal quality.

Robert: According to Digital UK, UHF channels 32 and 34 are not currently used by Mendip. PSB1 will move to UHF C32 on 4th April and PSB2 will move to C34 on 5th June. Are these the multiplexes that you've lost? They are currently still on C49 and C54 (retuning was a bad idea as you've now lost the tuning data for these muxes when they were previously correctly tuned). Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

This maybe a question best address to BBC Engineering, try 03700 100 123 as it seems no-one has come up with some ideas.

I too have been having trouble with freeview (from Mendip) not adjusting start and end times anymore. Most annoying and frustrating. I have two different top end Humax PVRs and smase has been happening with both.

Yes, I've been getting "No Signal" bursts too for some weeks now. I also find the freeview programme guides very slow to load (same on 3 TVs and 2 PVRs. Never used to have these problems.
