Fred:

You are not the only one with this problem.
As far as I am aware the Sutton Coldfield M/plexs 40 / 55 /56 now transmit using T2 transmission technology and if you have an older model TV which only has the T1 tuner then you will be unable to receive the 31 or so channels now transmitted in T2 (mostly HD channels).
Also, if your aerial / antenna is of the old grouped C/D type it will probably not be able to receive these channnels either and you will need to replace it with a 'wideband' or a group 'E' aerial.

So, you may have a TV receiver problem, an aerial type problem, or both.

Sutton Coldfield has always been Group B so there's no reason why anyone would be using a Group C/D aerial.

Ntcuser:

There are many changes in the pipleine and one is to move multiplexes down the frequency spectrum. In addition, there are two temporary multiplexes, COM 7 and COM8, which are broadcast on channels 55 and 56, so Sutton Coldfield is no longer only a Group B service. To get those viewers need the ability to receive those channels that are in the Group C/D range so they need a wideband aerial as a Groupd B is not able to get all the channles and neither is a Group C/D aerial. The best solution is a wideband type or a log-periodic that can get all the current channels as well as those planned for the next several years.

Sean : I'm struggling to understand your post, but I think you're having a problem receiving FreeSports on Freeview? Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitters you're able to receive, where you are in relation to them and your predicted coverage etc.

Over the last few days I have been experiencing signal problems from the Sutton transmitter on both Sky News and Dave. The signal keeps breaking up. My postcode is DE65 6DW.

David Smith: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? You should be getting a strong signal at your postcode, so there is most likely a fault or some sort of interference at your end.

Joanne Ness: Stop retuning, it will never fix a weak signal as you're just deleting your correctly tuned channels and searching for them again. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using and where you are in relation to it.

Channel 4 are moving some channels on Monday 13th
Some Channel 4 channels are moving positions on Freeview on Monday 13 May 2019 | Freeview

Does anyone know if the frequencies are changing or is it just the LCN changing?

I ask because I have no access to my box at the moment, but if it's just the LCN changing I can fudge my PVR to keep recording until I get home.

But I suspect I'm out of luck...?
