Further to that said by StevensOnln1, you would have to seek the permission of the property owner to mount a second aerial on the roof, even if it is on a different part of the property. If you do get that permission, you would do best to use a wideband aerial or a log-periodic as the current set of channels used are in Group C/D but next year (2020) they are due to change to be in the Group A range. A wideband type aerial will receive all so obviates the need for another change of aerial.

Please can you tell me why 'True Entertainment and 'True Movies' seem to have been deleted? I have re-scanned twice and although they appear on the channel list, they do not load to 48 and 49. Is this just a problem with the Pendle Forest transmitter? The signal itself is very patchy, constantly showing 'no signal' or freezing.

Chris Clegg:

It has been stated many times elsewhere on this website that True Entertainment is now only available on the local multiplexes where they are broadcast. Not every transmitter has a local service as there are no local TV station in all areas.

If you put your full post code and house name/number into the Digital UK Coverage Checker, select the Detailed View option and press Go you will see a listing of the transmissions available in your location. If there are no local services listed then you will not get True Entertainment. The change was decided by the broadcaster alone.

The Signal Quality of the 5 HD Channels on my Panasonic BluRay Recorder hovers between 4 and 8 and as such I get pixelating and every now and then a No Signal message for a split second which gets much worse with the Weather. I've reset and retuned on it a few times but it seems to make no difference. The ordinary Standard Channels (or most of them) are all OK.

I get none of this problem on my TV -which is part of the same set up and the Signal Quality is excellent.

You need to explain how your aerial is connected to your set up and what connecting leads/splitters etc you are using for a more specific suggestion, otherwise the only things you can do are check all your coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them.
Flyleads are a common problem, try swapping/changing them. See what signal strengths and quality you are getting for the multiplexes shown in your TV's tuning section, this may give an indication about aerial/downlead problems.
Also check that your downlead looks undamaged (especially if it is old) and that your aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction.
Problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just an individual or several multiplexes.

Also check your don't have any HDMI leads running close to any aerial leads/flyleads as they can sometimes cause interference.
It might be that your normal reception of the HD BBCB multiplex is not as good as the others or your transmitter currently has Planned Engineering if this is only a recent problem, but we'd need a full postcode to check those particular things without knowing which transmitter(s) you can/may receive.

A lot of Granada relay transmitters are listed for Planned Engineering. If you provide a full postcode we may be able to check if there any specific reports on this transmitter.

Robin Heath: There's no fault showing for the Pendle Forest transmitter, but it has been listed for planned engineering work for the last few weeks, which are due to continue this week.

Robin Heath:

One assumes that you were correctly tuned before you had no signal. You should not have done a "channel search" or "Retune" when you have no signal. You cannot tune to signals that aren't there or can't be decoded. The usual result is to clear your correct tuning and then you will receive nothing when signals return.
IF you did retune, you will have to do so again until your channels are returned.

As you haven't given a full postcode, we can't check your predicted reception and possibly make suggestions that may improve your situation when there is Planned Engineering if that is causing the current problem.
