Sue Jackson:

Apart from the movement of multiplexes to different UHF channels around the country (for which there are no more planned for Sudbury as part of the 700MHz clearance), unfortunately Broadcasters sometimes move their channels around to different LCN numbers and sometimes multiplexes.
This has happen twice recently. Back in May see Sony Channel changes | Freeview and most recently on 27th June see https://www.freeview.co.u…tml.

Unfortunately this means that you will no longer be able to get True Entertainment or True Movies as they've moved to Local muxes and there isn't one at Sudbury. Paramount Network & 5SELECT are both on the SDN multiplex.
You need to put your postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker to see what the predicted reception at your location is.

Hi there. Can only get a few Freeview channels, which is very annoying. Our aerial points towards Sudbury (we live in a bungalow). We also get interference on our DAB radio. I keep re-tuning both the TV and radio but to no aval. I live in Upper Dovercourt, CO12 4UH.
Any suggestions would be very welcoming. Thank you.

Carol:

Please put your post code into http://www.digitaluk.co.u…er/, select the Detailed view, add your house number and press Go. Then look at the listings for the possible transmitters for your location. You should find that though Sudbury is the best option, it is regarded as variable for 5 of the 6 multiplexes. That shows you are in a difficult reception area and a loft aerial will definitely not help matters.

Talk with your neighbours to see what their reception is like, especially if they have their aerial on the roof somewhere.

You may need to consider having Freesat with a dish instead of Freeview. That is likely to give you better reception of more programmes.

Carol .You live in a fairly weak signal area . You really need a good outdoor aerial.

I own an up to date smart TV set connected to a terrestrial aerial.

I live in the CO13 postal district. Very often the TV signal breaks down citing a weak or no signal..
Why does this happen ?
If its a transmitter problem , when will this be rectified?

A partial post code does not help. The Digital UK Coverage Checker, which is often our first point of reference, does not accept partial codes.

Thanks for getting the polar diagram for Sudbury, shows the big drop in signal for CH37 and CH31 in my direction (CM96HG),
Ties up with the spectrum analyser readings
Pretty hopeless much of the time on those two MUX into the evenings, again matching coverage checker.

Any ideas on why this has happened, and for whose benefit ? It all used to work fine before the 800 and 700 clearances
