The symbol shows the location of the Bilsdale (North Yorkshire, England) transmitter which serves 570,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Bilsdale (North Yorkshire, England) mast?

I'm also having trouble picking up 55 and 56 in Redcar. Although my aerial faces Bilsdale I could get signals from Pontop Pike too (and still can today on the new frequencies at both transmitters). However I get nothing on 55 nor 56.

Could the fact Bilsdale and Pontop Pike both now use these two frequencies for Com 7 & 8 respectively be causing interference?

It's odd if BBC1 BBC2 etc are supposed to be still on 100,000 watts but the signal is too low and periodically breaking up since the 13th November retune. We always had good signal throughout here Bilsdale is barely 10 miles away
I'm thinking the information on this page is no longer valid regarding transmitter outputs.

Further to my earlier comment, 55 and 56 are now working for me. Perhaps they waited until all the relays which used these frequencies were switched away from 55/56 before turning on these two at Bilsdale.

Checking through just now the majority of channels have bad/low signal issues I wonder if they are running at reduced power throughout due to ongoing work.
I assume this is all for 5G taking over C55 and C56.
It won't help here much when we still can't even send a text.

Paul :

Hi, I was just about to post, your predicted reception from Bilsdale is good for the 6 main muxes, but could be variable for COMs 7&8.

As you may have noticed some of the posts since yours where they weren't getting COMs 7&8 as well. It's quite likely as suggested by Fred, that they weren't broadcasting until all the Relays which were being changed today as well, had cleared their use of 55&56 for other multiplexes (there was a lot of them).
Glad you are OK now. Just to add, your reception (& others) of COMs 7&8 won't have been helped by the fact that they are now SFNs (single frequency networks where other transmitters use the same channels for COMs 7&8) but power for these two at Bilsdale has been increased from 18kW to 27kW.

Fred :

You are correct as I commented to Paul about possible interference from other transmitters due to COMs 7&8 now being SFNs. Whilst the power at Bilsdale has been upped, the power for COMs 7&8 at Pontop Pike has been reduced from 33/34kW to 19kW. However the 6 main muxes at Pontop Pike should all be now at 100kW, COMs4-6 having been upped from 50kW.

4wd:

Whilst information on some transmitter pages is wrong, the channels and power for the 6 main muxes here is correct. The PSBs are on 100kW & COMs 4-6 on 50kW. COMs 7&8 as mentioned to Paul now 27kW, also the Local mux on C30 was being upped from 5 to 7kW.
I would hope that by now, your reception should be back to normal as both Freeview and the BBC are reporting no faults.
I assume you have a Wideband Aerial?

Yes it's wideband, just rescanned and since the changes:

ch21 comes in at strength 1
ch24 is 9
27 is 2
30 is 2
40 is 9
45 is 8
46 is 5

None of them were on 1 and 2 before.
