PSB1 has been playing up over the past few days (not sure if it is longer than that as we were away) but we have been unable to watch BBC channels and sometimes on PSB2 as well although the HD channels on PSB3 seem ok.
It's probably atmospherics but odd no-one is reporting it on here as we have never had a similar problem in the 4 years we have lived here.

Crystal Palace freeview was unavailable in Luton this morning 21st Sept 2020 around 9am-11am, locally widespread. Was there a temperature inversion?

Well I've been posting this on some other transmitter pages as people have been raising problems.
There's been a lot of "Tropospheric Ducting" around causing interference, see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation.
It's may continue on and off for a day or two more.

Since March I have not been able to receive COM SEVEN on either of my two TV sets via the loft aerial.
Yesterday I noticed evidence of leaf fall beneath the large trees across the street.
I now have partial reception of COM SEVEN HD stations + PBS+ONE on the upstairs set.
Does my location have Seasonal Affective Disorder?
Will I finally achieve full FREEVIEW HD?
And will COM SEVEN be closed down in November as per your linking article????

You never said whether you completed (or did) any experimenting with the position of your loft aerial after the end of June to see what effect it had on the multipath and if it changed the situation regarding your COM7 signal!
Oh, btw manual tuning (if a set allows it) is more likely to find a signal that is borderline cliff edge and/or heavily pixillated as it only requires small changes in the signal to decode it and you can repeat it several times until such time as it does find it, I'm sure I've mentioned in the past about the use of manual tuning to try and find missing multiplexes.

a - I gave up going up into the roof in May as I wasn't getting anywhere
b- both TVs do allow manual tuning
c- I agree that this is a digital cliff-edge situation.
As it happens it has been raining today - so signal iis so erratic as to be useless on PBS + etc.
I attribute this to water on the slates.
Did you have any current information about whether COM seven is going off air in November.
If it is I won't bother climbing the ladder into the loft.
If Com seven is staying for a while it might be worth having another go.
Meanwhile thank God Sky Arts came on a non-HD mux . At least everyone can watch it.

There are (to the best of my knowledge) NO plans for COM7 to go off-air in November. The updated licence runs until June 2022 with the proviso that when the 700MHz auction has taken place, IF any MNOs have bought the centre gap frequencies which are allocated for SDL (Supplemental Down Link), they may give 3 months notice to Arqiva that they want to use them.
The situation is essentially as I posted here Rebuilding Freeview High Definition from 2019 onwards | free and easy
I don't know who is spreading such rumours, I note there is some misleading information published on this site in various places. OFCOM have announced that bidding in the auction will start sometime in January 2021.
The 700MHz spectrum is being auctioned in 6 lots of 2x5MHz blocks with a reserve price of 100m per lot for the FDD (Frequency Division Duplexing) paired spectrum portions, and 4 lots of 5Mhz in the SDL(Supplemental DownLink) portion with a reserve price of 1m per lot. I think those reserve prices suggest the SDL portion is not likely to get the same amount of "interest" from MNOs as the FDD lots!
AFAIK base station equipment to use SDL in the 700MHz band would need to be developed (and installed) and similarly handsets needing to be developed and marketed. IMHO the earliest that this might be available could be mid-2021, but I suspect it will be later (IF anyone buys it!).

Hi, during the last re-tune we lost the HD news channels and 4HD+1 (group a aerial) are we likely to get them back anytime soon, or do I need a new aerial? Many thanks.
