What does the red bouncy signal mean and why is there no coloured strength deatails on the map.
Nowhere do you say that it's out of order?
Thanks
David

David: The bouncing icon is a pin showing the location of the transmitter on the map. There are no faults currently reported for Belmont, although there is a warning of possible effect on transmission from a couple of weeks ago, so there may still be work ongoing which could require the transmitter's signal strength to be reduced or switched off for periods of time to allow the work to take place safely.

We have been unable to watch BBC1, BBC2 or BBC4 for several weeks now on Freeview via the Belmont transmitter, we have to resort to Freesat.
We were hoping the failure today might see an improvement upon repair but it's still unwatchable.
Is this related to the issue from the 6th December please?

I can't find any reports of faults at Belmont, and work did continue last week but as far as we know the work was completed and was just routine maintenance.
What has been an issue though is the weather conditions.
There has been moderate Temperature Inversion/Tropospheric Ducting affecting large parts of the UK for several days.. Do NOT retune, it will more likely remove your correct tuning.
These conditions are predicted to ease late on Wednesday by the end of the night
Despite the incorrect spelling, this link does work - simple technical explanation
https://www.bbc.co.uk/rec….jpg
Essentially it results in interfering signals from other transmitters in the UK or Europe reaching you and so your wanted signals are disrupted. It won't necessarily affect all multiplexes or necessarily at the same time if more than one. It can last for seconds, minutes, sometimes hours or longer.
The BBC have had a warning on their Works and Warnings page for a few days, and Freeview had added one today - Wednesday (better late than never!) but at the time it was then mainly affecting the S & SE.
