Alistair: Your relatively close to Black Hill (19km) witha clear line of sight, so you probably dont need the booster, in fact its possibly making reception worse. Yes, its having engineering work, but it should be fine.

However, you should get both audio and video together. If you've connected things up via scrat, check that they are fitting properly, since thats the sort of thing that can cause the problem your having.Check aerial cables, etc as well, and if possible, use hdmi rather than scart. Any loose connection can cause problems, so follow the chain.

Lily Bryson: As I said earlier, there doesnt seem to be any problems with the ytransmitter, even though its having engineering work.

If you've got more than one tv running from the same aerial, check the cable - no signal means that, so its possibly a broken or loose cable or connection. Sometimes you can have the strongest channels coming through, but not all.

Checked all cables and connections on both tv's and they are both fine, the problem is the signal according to message on both tv's, the tv isn't even picking up all the freeview channels it was this morning the aerial is a communal one so as you advise no problem with transmission will speak to factor in morning. On the tv I retuned it hasn't even picked up all the radio channels, if factor advises no prob with aerial then presume the issue is not with our system and tv's are new so have no idea what prob is other than the transmission

Lily Bryson: Anyone residing in an apartment block served by a communal aerial system experiencing problems with reception should always adopt checking with a neighbour to determine if they are also experiencing similar problems as the number one priority, because the chances are that they might well be!

The second point being, that if a programme is selected from the EPG guide list (or even just directly!) and it results in a blank screen then its most inadvisable for anyone to retune their TV, as in most cases the blank screen is simply being caused by the signal level received having dropped under the level required to produce a picture and which "will" return of its own accord when the level rises again provided that the TV / box has "not" been retuned, because the action of retuning wipes out everything already stored in the tuners memory and which will "only" be reloaded into the tuners memory again if the signal has returned to normal, because if it hasn't then the situation has been created where further retunes will be required at random times to recover the programmes.

The main point being, that if the EPG guide list is still being displayed then the TV / box has "not" lost the programme channel irrespective of whether or not anything is seen when the programme channel is selected.
