Alexei Romanov:

That again suggests your equipment is getting too much or too little signal on the affected multiplexes - as happened previously. You really must check the actual signal strength reported by your equipment on the affected signals and report back here so we may be able to suggest possible solutions. Without that information and your full post code (to check the transmission and reception conditions at your locality) it is impossible to offer any assistance.

Alexei Romanov:

Have you checked what signals your are receiving and from which transmitter they are from?

You should be using Black hill with signals on channels 46,43, 40, 41+, 44, 47, 32 35 and 51. Your problem may be that you are getting some from Darvel which uses channels 22-, 25, 28, 23, 26, 29, 31 and 37. Which means that it is possible that an auto-tune will find those first and as they are at lower channel numbers, are from a different direction and in a different aerial group - so you may be getting them but with poor signal strength - hence all the problems.

So you need to check carefully which multiplexes your are receiving. You can normally do that by entering the manual tune mode BUT WITHOUT DOING A MANUAL TUNE. check whether the signals being received match the channels given above for Black Hill or if they are the ones from Darvel. If they latter, then do a manual retune for each of the incorrect channels.

Alexei Romanov:

That single figure is not enough, we need the figures for *all* of the channels used by Black Hill as they often differ. Having said that, 44-50% is on the low side anyway so you need to do something to increase that to between 65% and 85% but not greater.

You should start by checking carefully *all* the aerial cable connections. If they are all good but the strength is still low, then you may need a better aerial or possibly an amplifier. I use a Log-periodic aerial, such as the one shown at Online FM DAB TV Aerial sales (other types and suppliers are available) as that gives good gain and full coverage into the foreseeable future.
