Still can't get the channel list sorted by region - has no-one got any advice? It seemed this was a fairly active thread/forum when I joined up....

TTD: If it is putting STV on logical channel number (LCN) 1 (rather than BBC One) then it must be noted that PSB2 is found first during the scan PSB2 being the multiplex which carries STV, STV+1, Channel 4 etc. So in such circumstances it would appear to be neglecting to assign the services their native LCNs under the Freeview system.

This makes me wonder whether the country setting isn't right as I've experienced the same thing when it's not been set correctly.

With the Freeview system each transmitter (or group of transmitters) is the "region". So selection of "region" is actually selection of transmitter. If the country setting is wrong then maybe it doesn't recognise the "region" identifiers that are being broadcast, thus the only option it can offer is one of signal quality.

I therefore think that the solution isn't necessarily one of looking to sort by region as opposed to sort by signal quality, although it is the case that irrespective of method used, the final solution is one where the "main" channels (i.e. those in proper LCNs and not those in the 800s) are those of Craigkelly.

TTD. Is new flying lead pulling in Blackhill transmissions that is confusing recorder? I had a similar problem at switchover when one of the MUXs had a full stop after Central Scotland and it caused half the TV programmes to go into the 800s. (that lasted a couple of weeks until it was corrected).

TTD: If for any reason the advice given by Dave Lindsay fails to rectify the situation then you should blank out everything stored by carrying out an auto tune without the aerial being connected, then on completion of reconnect the aerial and check that the EPG is blank or alternatively a "no signal" message is seen, then go into the recorders tuning menu / manual tune and enter each of the mux channels used by Craigkelly one at a time starting with C27 (BBC), checking the EPG after each mux channel is scanned to make sure that its been stored correctly before going into the manual tuning menu again and entering the next mux number in line.

Craigkelly's mux numbers being /

27 (BBC1) - 24 (ITV1) - 21 (HD) - 42 (ITV3 etc) - 45 (Pick TV etc) - 39 (4 Music etc) - 33 (New HD)

Michael, can you tell what mode it is? The info above for it doesn't match any of the modes listed on the modes page. Seems daft to use a non-standard mode, and also to use QPSK at all...

It seems that Edinburgh TV is late arriving.

I have done a scan on two TVs and all I am getting on RF30 is a test card on 791 and BonanzaBonanza on 64. ETV is supposed to be on 34, according to the information above, but even after doing a First-time Installation that channel number is still showing ITV3+1.

Does anybody have information on ETV?

Oh, by the way, I'm near Dunbar and I'm getting the test card signal with what my TVs say is a 10/10 signal quality.
