In Aberdeen AB24 postcode area.
All my BBC freeview channels have now gone from my free view list. They were initially intermittent but generally ok with enough signal strength to get a picture. Then by the 2nd or 3rd April 2013 no signal strength was available. Tried various retuning tricks but still no signal available.
Has there been any change to channel signal strength transmission on BBC channel multiplex D28?

I am unable to get any signal in Huntly (AB54) area at all.
Recently all I was getting was BBC channels so when I did a retune last night.
I've tried doing a retune & channel scan a number of times but get nothing. It's pretty pointless getting a new tv & aerial within the last few months which doesn't allow me to watch TV!

Grant: If your aerial is pointing to Durris then I suggest that Gartley Moor might be better.
From Durris you aren't likely to pick up the full service (you will only get the PSB channels). Gartley Moor is PSB-only, so you will be no worse off.
This terrain plot shows why:
Terrain between ( m a.g.l.) and (antenna m a.g.l.) - Optimising UK DTT Freeview and Radio aerial location
The ground about 5 miles away is 300m above your ground level. This is Gartley Moor (or near to).
If your aerial is a Group A one (with a red tip) then it won't be the best for Gartley Moor as it is C/D (green tip):
Aerials, TV Aerial and Digital Aerial
The Gartley Moor transmitter is only six degrees anti-clockwise of Durris. It is vertically polarised whereas Durris is horizontally polarised, so the aerial will need to be vertical rather than horizontal.

Grant: If your receiver has a manual tune function then use it.
For Durris, BBC is UHF channel 28 and STV/C4/C5 is on C25. HD is on C22.
From Gartley Moor, BBC is C58, STV/C4/C5 is C61 and HD is C54. C61 will change to C49 on 31st July.
A tip: on the manual tune function of many receivers, you can enter/select a UHF channel number and before pressing the button to scan (may be "OK" or "Scan" etc) wait and it will give an indication of strength and quality, even in cases where scanning it gives a message that there are no channels found because the signal is under the threshold required to show a picture or too poor quality.

Grant: Further to Dave Lindsay's advice, the DUK reception predictor does not show any reception as being possible for the COM muxes from Durris due to the likelyhood of interference from Knock More which currently shares some frequencies with Durris. However, in the event that the Knock More signal does not cause the level of interference anticipated by the predictor, you might find that reception of the COM muxes is sometimes possible from Durris.

Thanks for the help, I am still getting nothing, I even found a signal booster from my old TV and that didn't work either.
I have no been without a signal for the past week now and the only way I can watch TV in my own room is by either linking a table to the HDMI socket or watching channels on a laptop instead

Grant: Could you please clarify regarding what's actually meant by "watch TV in my own room"? as this could be taken as inferring that you are possibly using a shared aerial, also when you say "by linking a cable to the HDMI socket", HDMI sockets on what devices?
By the way, as Dave Lindsay has pointed out you are making postings under two different headings, that of Durris and Gartley Moor, as I had replied to you on the 21st under Gartley and with Dave Lindsay and KMJ,Derby replying under Durris.

I am using a flat portable aerial. for some reason after I have now got a slightly better reception but now only receive BBC channels.
I had to previously link a tablet into the HDMI socket & watch tv using an android app.

Grant: Have you tried putting your aerial vertical?
Then do a manual tune on UHF channel 61.
