ourselves and our neighbours have been experiencing pixilation of our tv's for a number of weeks, there has been periods of days within this timeframe where the signal has been good.
a signal meter shows the signal quality varying from 100% to 0% . the signal level remains at 100%. There has been no issues over the past 7 years.

MARTIN wylie:

As you can see from the post before yours, and some previous ones, the transmitter is currently having Planned Engineering. If you've had no issues previously, then it's likely that the engineering work is the cause but as you haven't given a full postcode is not possible to draw any conclusions about how your reception might be affected.

Just as a side note, you should normally expect to get 100% Quality on all multiplexes. There's the possibility that 100% signal could be a touch too much and under certain circumstances overload the front end of the receiver which could also cause quality variations, however if you've not had problems previously this risk could be lower.

There's also the possibility that you might now be getting interference from a new/upgraded mobile phone mast now operating in the 700MHz band, but again we need a full postcode to check on that.

Wendy: There is currently engineering work listed for Durris, unfortunately no completion date is given. Retuning was a bad idea as you may have deleted the tuning data for some or all of your channels which were already correctly tuned.

Wendy:

As per various posts before yours, the transmitter is subject to Planned Engineering and sometimes there are service interruptions, though these are usually brief., however Arqiva never provide details of the work or how long it may last as some of it can be weather dependant.

I'm afraid the worst thing you could do, is retune when you have no signal. You cannot tune to signals that are not there or cannot be decoded. The usual result is it clears your correct tuning and you get nothing when the signals return.

Do you still have ITV, 4 & 5 and the other channels? If so, then do a MANUAL retune for the BBCA/PSB1 multiplex on UHF channel C28 (for Durris).
If your set has an HD/T2 tuner and you normally get the HD channels (LCNs 101-107) and you are no longer getting them, then do a MANUAL retune on UHF channel C22.
If any multiplexes are still off-air, I'm afraid you'll just have to keep trying those retunes until; signals are normal and you get the channels back.

Poor reception continues for the forth day!
Worse via my BT freeview box.. Smart TV only signal levels improve but still disappear occasionally.
Slightly better today but still annoying to say the least.
NOT the only person affected either as my daughter who lives the other side of Ellon from me has similar issues.

Bill Tarling: The transmitter engineering post directly above yours indicates that there is planned engineering work taking place at Durris this week. Unfortunately no completion date is given.

Bill Tarling:

You aren't predicted to get the best of reception for all multiplexes from Durris and the planned Engineering won't help when there's reduced power or operation from the Reserve Antenna (lower on the mast).

Which TV channels (or even the multiplex's UHF channels) are you having particular problems with?
Does your set give %Quality figures as well as Signal Strength figures for each multiplex's UHF channel?
