Hi Folks, thanks for getting back with the information, postcode is BA22 8TX and it is the Com 7/8 channels that are a nightmare. Mike nice suggestion on Freesat, but why should I spend even more money, as far as I can see digital is a hit and miss service, I hope to God they increase the power on Com 7/8 eventually.

I note from the Freeview Map that we can now see, that you are near to a generic mobile phone mast. It is possible that you are having interference from that mast. Contact AT800 at Contact us | Advice or general enquiries | at800 They well provide a filter free of charge to try and eliminate any problems due to 4G signals.
As for power output on COMs 7&8, there is no plan to increase the output of these multiplexes. If they are the ones giving most problems, then it may be that your aerial is not the required wideband type. If you have not had it changed in the last teo/three months then it is likely to not be a wideband type and I'd advise having it changed for a good quality one, but don't fall for the 'digital aerial' con as there is no such thing.

Can anyone explain why COM5 ArqA is now breaking up on Channel 33. This has only happened since the channel changed. It is happening in TA21 9DF area and TA5 1BW area. All signals on the multiplex are breaking up.

Andrew Fielder: What signal strength do you get on UHF channel 33 compared to the other muxes? If it's lower, the most likely explanation is that you have a Group C/D aerial which is not designed to receive the lower part of the UHF band. If you don't have satellite or cable you should be eligible to have a replacement wideband aerial fitted free of charge, which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

StevensOnln1. Both wideband aerials installed in the 12 months. In fact the one at TA5 1BW was only fitted a couple of months ago (and has line of sight to the Mendip mast). All other Muxs work perfectly. Both aerials filter 4G. At TA21 9DF I have Sig strength of 86% on channel 48, Today I have 80% on Ch33 and the picture is fine.

I think I have it sorted or I will once I trim the hedges! TA5 sorted (needed a manual retune) fault not reported quite correctly to me!

In addition to what has already been said, according to the terrain plot for your location, and to DigitalUK, you should not have any problem with reception.

There is a nice bug busy elder right in front of the aerial. Once the flowers have gone into some champagne, it getting the saw treatment!
Reception was fine during the winter!

Chris.SE: That may well be, but I live here and it doesn't work at all times, the signal is just too weak this far from Mendip, we are very badly served here in Yeovil.

Yeovil is quiote well served from Mendip, a cousin lives in West Coker Road and gets excellent reception. So perhaps there is a fault in yopur aerial system. Check all the connections between the aerial and your TV, unplugging and refitting any plug/socket connections. Also check for any damage to the cables that might let water enter when it rains. Then check that your aerial is still correctly positioned and aimed at the transmitter properly. If unsure use the Digital UK service at Digital UK - Coverage checker and enter your full post code. That will tell you the correct compass direction and also the correct channels to tune to.
