As you haven't said where you are or given a full postcode we can't give any specific information other than there are no reported faults at Mendip. If you are to the north, signals are being received at normal levels. If you are to the south, current weather with any snow may be affecting your signal.

Check that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing in the correct direction and that the downlead is secure and not flapping in the wind. Check all your coax connections behind the TV etc.
Have you altered/changed anything about with your equipment recently? Do you have any distribution amp/splitter etc.?

You are never advised to retune when you have no signal or badly pixellated pictures as this usually just clears the correct tuning. Try a manula retune on Mendip's UHF channels.
Post back with a full postcode if you are still having problems.

Sorry ,post code shown. Aerial new 2 years ago, tried new indoor amp to no avail when all this break up first started last year, not been stable since. All equipment is good, TV's are smart TV's less than 4 years old. At one point called in an engineer who checked out all cables /connectors and confirmed strong signal when working from roof top aerial. 70 down the shute. One on line help site sent a free mobile mast filter as they thought a new mast nearby might be causing interference, but not making any difference. Of the channels I should get-32,33,34,35,36, and 48, all I have today is 32 and 36.
Aware of all the retuning /resetting advice, makes no difference, very frustrating.

Sorry, don't understand what you are saying about the postcode - can't see one. Looking at a previous post, if you are in Devizes, most parts should get a good signal from Mendip but without the postcode can't check if you are in a "not-spot" for some of the channels.

Look in your LG's TV Tuning section for Signal Strength and check and post back the figures for Signal Strength and Quality for each of the UHF channels from Mendip - 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 & 48.
You should have 100% Quality on each of those channels.
SOME locations may even get the Local multiplex on UHF C30.

You mention an indoor amp. What make and model is this?

Repeat the figures for each UHF channels with the amp disconnected and turned off, with the aerial plugged straight into the set, not via the amp. Too much signal can cause the symptoms you see especially if you are also getting signals from other transmitters (even when not tuned to them) which some locations in Devizes can get - eg. Wenvoe, Hannington, & Rowridge.

Just in case you are not sure where to find the information, it should be something like -
All Settings >Programmes >Programme Tuning & Settings >Signal Test
Then select each one in turn.

Chris, post code is SN103ES, Done all that you have suggested , what we have is channel 32, signal strength 46%, and channel 34 signal strength 18%. We have a 4G mobile mast to the north west (our signal from Mendip is due West correctly aligned) about 1.2 km away and I believe this is having an effect on our reception.
I have removed indoor amp and connected aerial direct to my LG smart tv, cleared all memory, reset manually each channel, makes no difference. Occasionally we will pick up another channel but pixelation/break up makes impossible viewing.
Now talking to Resolve TV again, they also thought mobile mast was problem and supplied a free filter, they may send an engineer at no cost to investigate. According to their remit they have authority from mobile license holders to resolve any issues due to mast interference at no cost to user. Will let you know outcome.

Thanks for the postcode, you aren't in any not-spot for the signal from Mendip according to the predictions. UHF C32 & C34 could be the strongest according to the predictions. but there should be very little between them all.

Those Strength figures are quite low BUT it is the Quality figures that go with them that are very important. It would also be helpful to see figures for the other UHF channels without & with the amp.

Where is the Filter you currently have inserted. It should be BEFORE THE AMP !
At least you are getting good co-operation from restoretv.uk and yes they are responsible for resolving any issues due to interference from a mobile mast!

Not really a transmission problem but would welcome any useful advise or indication if other are having similar trouble. Problem is............

Over recent months I have been unable to load Channel 4 via my HUMAX set to box.

Having selected C4 I receive all the pre-programme adverts but then get the 'this is disappointing etc.' screen.

I have tried reset the HUMAX box and resetting C34 which is the Mendip Transmitter channel but with no luck.

I my TV is a Samsung which is to old to receive the ITVX broadcast. Is this why I cannot get C4?

Advice would be most welcome.

bruce tearle: Do you mean the All4 catchup/streaming app? If so, it works using your internet connection and has nothing to do with any signals received via your aerial. What model of Humax box do you have? Have you tried BBC iPlayer or any other apps on the box? Your Samsung TV not being able to get ITVX has nothing to do with the All4 app.

The set top box is FVP-4000T HUMAX and the TV is Samsung. The box and the TV are recognised as not being able to receive the new ITVX transmissions. Both receive TV signal via external aerial and copper coax cable.

Currently, there is no problems receiving other Freeview channels.

Hope this gives sufficient information

Regards

Bruce

bruce tearle: As I said, reception of Freeview channels is not the issue here. What I was asking was whether any of the other streaming apps on the Humax such as iPlayer are working?
