This transmitter is showing serviceable here. SINCE the work was carried out 2-4 Dec I have found a great number of people in my location that are suffering from a dreadful service.
THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
I would like to see some action taken please.

My post code is IV2 4LB and my aerial is roof mounted.
Yet again I find this morning between 11am and noon that while rosemarkie claims to have no problems I have no signal or bad signal on my COM6 ArqB channels. This happens every now and again and is very annoying.
Since I regularly take steps to ensure that none of the other potential causes (need to reset/mobile phones/etc.) are ruled out the only possible cause is inversion due to high pressure weather conditions.
However, it is my understanding from reading the notes that the potential disturbance caused by nearby analogue transmitters should only affect the weak digital signals used for freeview prior to digital switchover. Since digital switchover has happened does this explanation no longer hold water?
I can practically see the Rosemarkie transmitter from my home in Inverness so why is this still happening?

Charles Wilson: Having checked the William Hepburn tropospheric ducting forecast for today, there is no indication whatsoever of inversion taking place, however at such times as this does take place out of area digital signals will interfere with your normal service as much if not more than analogue signals used to. There is of course the possibility of locally originating interference from the RF modulators of Sky boxes, VCRs or games consoles. It is also possible that engineering work is taking place to prepare for frequency changes later in the year on PSB2 and ArqB. Such work might not be notified, as much of the engineering information originates from the BBC and deals mostly with their own services.

Charles Wilson: You live in a bungalow which puts your aerial lower down than with a house and you also appear to be well-hampered by some large oak trees on your road.
My feeling is that this is a signal quality issue rather than a signal strength issue. If so, then it starts at the aerial and, for example no amount of amplification will make the slightest bit of difference.
I see that you made a posting last July complaining of the same issue with the same channel. In July this year C50 is due to move to C40, so if it is a particular frequency that is being hit, as it appears to be, then it might go away when it changes channel.
Granted, you would put up with it until then, but if you do do something to try and solve the issue, be mindful that that work may only be required for the next five months.
I'm not an aerial installer; just a technical bod. Perhaps, if you can do so, turning your aerial a little, preferably so it's pointing nearer to the edge of the tree might help.

Across the Firth from Rosemarkie. Have had no picture since 26th July. Get sound sometimes. Even bought new aerial. Tried other t.v. with same result. Followed instructions but can't scan channels without something on screen. Screen stays black. This is first time in 15 years that I have had a problem.Have absolutely no technical knowledge so any help has to be in basic english This is clearly problem arising from Rosemarkie. Please can someone help me?

Gemma: Irrespective of whether or not you are receiving any channels there should always be something seen on the screen if menu is pressed.
Are you using a Freeview TV or a Freeview box? if its the latter then check that the boxes scart connector is fully seated into its socket.
Knowledge of your post code or one from nearby (shop/post office) would also be of assistance by this enabling access to the reception predictor etc, plus more detailed tuning advice "might" possibly be given if you supplied the model number of the TV or box being used.
