Rod: Confirm that your receiver is tuned to the Selkirk transmitter for ITV channels. The other transmitter that it might have tuned to at your location is Chatton, although this broadcasts ITV Tyne Tees instead.

Bring up the signal strength screen whilst on ITV1 and see whether it is tuned to UHF channel 59 which that of Selkirk or channel 42 which that of Chatton.

If it turns out that it is tuned to Chatton, then run the automatic tuning scan through with the aerial unplugged up until 55% (or until it gets past C47 if it gives channel numbers during the scan). This will have the aerial unplugged whilst it scans channels used by Chatton, but plugged in for those of Selkirk. If there is a setting in the menu something to the effect of "automatic channel update", then you may benefit from turning this off if it does a retune when unattended as a result of this being turned on. If there is no such setting, then you will have to hope that it isn't one of those devices that retunes when it feels like it, leaving the user with the incorrect channels.

The engineering work at Selkirk now appears to be finished and the ITV epg has returned to normal. I can only assume there was a problem with it that has now been corrected

We are served by the Selkirk transmitter and over the past few months have experienced intermittent reception. We frequently have to reset freeview as get message that no reception. Today we are getting no signal and on checking website for transmitter problems Selkirk is not mentioned but on checking on Selkirk page there is a message saying that some people may experience problems for next week. What is going on?

There is a message posted on 18th Aug clearly saying that there will be Transmitter Engineering on Selkirk Transmitter and there may be interuptions to TV digital signal and yet no mention on any other sites of this problem. Surely these sites should automatically be informed of this. From the postings it seems that there has been a lot of work carried out over past 6 months which could explain our reception problems.

iain scott: Just guessing, but its likely your not tuned into Selkirk, but Calbeck. Have a look at the Digital UK link. Selkirk is on Channel 50, whilst Calbeck is 25-27. Tuners often start on the low numbers...

iain scott: You say it's "Full HD", but is it "Freeview HD" which means does it contain a DVB-T2 tuner? The model number would allow assertion as to whether it does.
