Hi. For the last few days only the bbc channels have been working on our freeview box. I tried a spare with the same results. Have done numerous resets and deleted taped shows for space but we can only find 33 stations in total and as stated only the bbc channels will work. Have checked cables etc and all seem fine. We live in a communal appartment building and we seem to be only ones with issues. We are in the West Midlands area.
Any help appreciated.

chris: If you've tried two boxes with the same result - its not you although its worth swaping round an aerial cable, in case its that). Could be a problem with the communial aerial system, but nobody else has noticed it yet (dodgy aerial lead, plus existing problem = far less channels).

I see that neighboring transmitter Waltham will have some frequencies reallocated to ones that Sutton Coldfield currently uses (C39, C42, C45). Are the reallocated from Sutton Coldfield currently known?

Matt: There are a number of considerations affecting the possible outcome of which frequency plan will eventually be adopted after 2018. Priority is given to allocating frequencies to the PSB muxes at the main transmitters. There is a suggested plan to allocate C22, C25 and C28 to each of the full service Freeview transmitters for the COM muxes to use as a SFN DVB-T2 network. This might prove to be too ambitious technically. There is also the question of what frequency allocation would be made for the displaced PSB muxes at Belmont as surrounding service areas would be using the other frequencies normally allocated for PSBs. Another question mark surrounds the allocation of frequencies for the Freeview lite relays. Arqiva has already suggested that there might not be enough frequencies to go round. Could this mean some relays could close if alternative signals are available or very few actually use them?

Brierley Hill Transmitter information request.

The Brierley Hill channel 53 multiplex is used for Freeview HD transmissions. Before the BBC3 switch-off five HD channels were broadcast, i.e BBC1-HD, BBC2-HD, ITV1-HD, Channel4-HD and BBC3-HD/CBBC-HD.

Is it the intention to use what was the BBC3-HD slice of channel 53 multiplex to transmit BBC4-HD?

@E. Boiler

Channel 5 has now been granted a Freeview HD licence and speculation is that they will be using the space recently vacated by BBC3HD along with LCN105.

Thanks for the information re Channel5-HD. I understand that Channel5 declined an earlier offer of a Freeview HD slot due to financial reasons so BBC3-HD was substituted.
