mark hawes: the Horizon website has updated data files and firmware for your meter. Go to Horizon HD-TM Plus and click Product Downloads under Resources on the right-hand side for the data files, and 'Upgrades / Utilities / Docs' for the firmware. (RG47SH)

Hi - My mother and father in-law's analogue TV has finally given up the ghost after 25 years. They had hoped to wait until after the switchover. So had I as they will find it really difficult to cope with the retuning;etc (one is nearly 90 and the other is well over 90) and since I am 170 miles away I won't be of much help.
They live in North Walsham. Can anyone explain to me why the BBC service is planned to deteriorate in 2013. This seems insane, would they be better going for a Freesat??

David Pearce: I used the postcode NR28 9JS with Digital UK's postcode checker, trade view. It shows that BBC A, D3+4, and the HD multiplex are expected to get worse in 2012.
The commercial multiplexes at the Dover transmitter will be using these frequencies (C55, C59 and C62). I think this is why the prediction deteriorates - they are north of Tacolneston so the aerial will point in roughly that direction. Yes, Dover is a long way away and signals are blocked by the curvature of the Earth, but in the right (or wrong) weather conditions, signals bounce off the atmosphere and travel further than you'd think. They might experience break-up at night.
It may be possible to reduce the problem by rotating the aerial several degrees clockwise, so it points a bit to the right of Tacolneston, and doesn't pick up as much from Dover.
The Midhurst transmitter will also transmit on C55 but this is even further away and much less powerful. DUK show little impact from this.

Thanks. They've gone and bought a Panasonic Freeview today, so hopefully it'll be OK.
As regards inteference from Dover, if its only at night it shouldn't prove too much of a problem since they go to bed early. We'll just have to wait and see.
They are in NR28 9JQ and that says 2013, so this ia obviously not an exact science!!!. It would be helpful if Digital UK's site gave a bit more detail than just 'Variable reception' which could mean anything, if its only the odd day thats not so bad. If its every other day, thats different all together.
Our reception is from Emley Moor and we can use a wire coathanger as an aerial!!

Can get analogue signal ok, but the digital signal on freeview just comes up as 'no signal' for the past two days. Sky dish - no problem.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Cannot be my set/aeriel, as analogue is working ok.

S. Carter: It could be a fault with your Freeview box, but check your aerial cables.

I have three Bush IDLCD27TV006 tvs with built in Freeview, since the South of the Anglia region changed to digital only I find they are freezing/not responding to the r/c on ITV, CH4 and CH5.
I am on the Tacholneston transmitter, done full factory resets etc. All these channels are 64QAM, all the rest on 16QAM still work fine.
Do we know if any changes to the transmission have taken place to cause this or is it a temporary changeover thing as if it isn't it's a disaster as it only seems to affect these tvs!!
Any comments or information would be gratefully received.
