Confused. I live in Solihull ESE of Birmingham and get BBC HD on channel 34 - Think this is coming from Lichfield rather then Sutton Coldfield but this website whilst showing it as a Freeview HD site only lists it as an Analogue transmitter which is being switched off in September?

John Tribe: Yes, the Freeview HD preview service comes from Lichfield. I'm not sure why the page doesn't say so, I'll have a look at it.

We have experienced deteriorating reception on both digital and analogue signals since around 15th May to the point where we now have virtually no signal. We have a rooftop aerial directed to the Malvern relay transmitter. Is there a problem with the transmitter or is it likely to be with our aerial - perhaps due to the winds we've been having, although there's no obvious sign of movement.

We live in Ashbourne derbyshire and presume we are under the sutton coalfield transmitter. We have have just changed from sky to freeview and we updated our aerial and cable to receive this service. The aerial we have used is a High gain wideband digital aerial and is situated on the side of our house. The picture signal is not great on some of the channels. Do we need a booster or a de booster to gain better reception.

nicola: You shouldn't need anything but your aerial and cable to have stable reception from Sutton Coldfield on all multiplexes.

Hi, bought a digital stream freeview HD box for my parents a couple of weeks ago, checked it at my house first, and received all freeview channels no problem. Bought one for ourselves and can't get anything on MUXD at the moment despite several retunes (though does pick up Create & Craft which is supposed to be on MUXD - nothing else though) - anyone know of any issues?

Hi, moved into new house in February and got aerial installer to install new aerial and 6 access points in house. Since February have struggled to get decent itv 1 signal and related stations on that bandwidth. Also, other stations have intermittent problems. Aerial is in loft, do I need to put it on the roof or is bad signal due to transmitter changes due to switchover. Also should I wait till September as I know signal will be increased. thanks K

ian: Until switchover, a wideband aerial is required to watch Multiplex D from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter. If you have not upgraded your aerial, you will not receive the multiplex.

K: Loft aerials are now and always will be unsuitable for digital television reception. Move the aerial to the roof where it can have a clear line of sight to the transmitter.
