Hi there,

I live in DD5 3NA and I can only pick up PSB 1 & 2. The three COM signals do not appear to be picked up. I have used the Tay Bridge relay but today moved my aerial to the Angus transmitter - no change. My folks live further away in Carnoustie but they manage to receive all of the channels. It is only a loft aerial. Might this be the problem?

Thanks for your help/advice.

John

John: You are predicted to receive all six multiplexes from the Angus transmitter with a rooftop aerial. Loft aerials are not suitable for reliable Freeview reception.

Hi - I have recently lost ITV3, Fiver and Five usa from my selection channels. I have re-scanned several times. One of the televisions in the house stil shows those options but a blank screen is shown when I select them. Although I live in Scone I receive good signal with roof ariel so I would prefer to stay with this transmitter. Thanks Bob

Bob Reid: You are not predicted to receive multiplex SDN as your signal comes from the Perth transmitter, which does not carry the service.

Thanks Briantist. We are not on the Perth transmitter. We installed freeview before Perth transmitter was constructed and we received a good signal (and still do) with outside ariel and a booster from the Angus transmitter. Don't really want to reposition the ariel towards Perth unless nessessary but would a high gain ariel still from the Angus transmitter help? We received strong signal ITV3, Fiver and Five USA until 3 weeks ago when Channel Alba appeared (but no content) about the same time. Bob

Briantist - I've just seen that my postcode is wrongly shown on this site. My postcode is PH2 6RP. Should've noticed this before asking the question. Sorry. Bob

bob reid: Digital UK's predictor still reckons you will get best results from the Perth relay at present. For a six-multiplex service it reckons your best option will be Black Hill, once that transmitter switches over next month, although most multiplexes are expected to remain poor until late 2012.

Looking at the terrain and distance that does seem pretty unlikely! Still, Black Hill transmits at 10 times the power of Angus, and Angus may not transmit equal power in all directions.

My postcode is PH2 7DA, served by the Perth transmitter. line of sight giving a very good signal, but it doesn't transmit the full range of services. How likely is it I could get these from either Angus or Blackhill?

Andy Chenhall: Sorry, but you can't get any more channels using you aerial. Your best option is Freesat, see Compare Freeview Light and Freesat TV | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .
