gardoon: If the aerial is still in its correct position and you have checked the cables and connectors you need to make sure that the tuner is storing channels on the correct frequencies for the transmitter that your aerial is pointing to. If the aerial is pointing to Emley Moor (S,rods horizontal) the correct frequencies are C44, C47, C48, C51, C52 and C41(HD). For Idle (NW, rods vertical) the frequencies are C21, C24, C39, C42, C45 and C27(HD). You could even have SDN from Belmont on C30- found during the scan. If your receiver permits manual tuning do a factory reset to clear the channel list then manually insert the correct frequency channels.

Freeview HD channels had been working fine for months, until yesterday (Jan 2). Now all I get is a 'Service is not running or scrambled' message. I've tried re-tuning but no success. I live in Highbury, North London. Anyone got any ideas about what is going on? Thanks.

Hi
I am in Bethnal Green (London) and have a shared (I think) roof mounted aerial, my TV has a built in HD Freeview receiver but no matter how many times I scan I cannot receive and HD channels, all other channels are fine.
Are HD channels on a different freq, is it possible that the roof aerial is rubbish and incapable for receiving HD signal?

hi, i am in Camberley, surrey i have my aerial pointing at crystal palace as every other house in my round has the same.
i have a 52 element digital aerial but i can only get the stronger signal channels ie, bbc 1, 2 ,3,4 pick tv, yesterday ect.
I can not receive channel 5 or itv as the signal is to weak my bbc signal is only 56% according to my freeview + box.
My question is will the signal boost in April or will i have to have some sort of booster?? what date will the boost happen if any?.
thx

Stuart Tanner: Yes, the signal will be stronger in April.
Switchover happens in two stages:
1. On 4th April BBC Two analogue will be switched off and BBC standard definition digital services will go on their full (post-switchover) power.
2. Two weeks later on 18th April the other analogue channels are switched off and the rest of the digital channels go on full power.
The strength of the signal isn't that important. So long as it is strong enough to produce a stable picture, then that is sufficient.
To try and get ITV1, C4 etc, go to manual tuning in the menu and tune to Ch22.

Thank you Dave Lindsay for your fast reply.
Well that puts my mind at rest i will leave the aerial as is and await april.
i cant seem to do a manual tune on my brand new goodmans freeview + box only automatic tuning lol.
I'm getting 60% signal and 48% quality at present on bbc ect so it can all only get better though i am supposed to be able to get a better signal from hannington i did try this transmitter with no luck and guildford but the hogs back gets in the way as i said all the aerials in my road point to crystal palace so who am i to argue lol.
again many thx for the amazingly fast reply.

I bought a digitop aerial after 2 One 4 All Aerials SLX Gold digiTop Amplified High Performance Indoor: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics and on the day i bought it - perfect - all freeview channels perfect signal. However the next day and today I've not got such good signal/reception on at least 4 or 5 channels? Is it the aerial? Should i re-tune my Freeview built in tv? Or should I just continue to play about with my aerial when needed, and hope the signal strengh will be stronger, come switchover time?
