The symbol shows the location of the Crystal Palace (Greater London, England) transmitter which serves 4,490,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Crystal Palace (Greater London, England) mast?

I have 2 built in freeview tvs obviously both through the same aerial, everything was fine before the 1st switch over and I retuned both tvs as instructed, they were both fine and worked up until about 3 hours ago, we have now lost ITV, C4, C5, ITV2 & others, I have tried re-tuning them again but it just says channel not found, no signal, can anyone help me and explain what has happened, I know that the second part of the change over is on the 18th April and that we need to do the procedure again but does that mean we will get these channels back? And surely losing them just like that and 9 days before the 2nd change over isn't right, is it???

Have Philips 19PFL with built-in Freeview and an outside aerial. Everything perfect until April 4th. Did correct re-installation but now whilst I can receive all other digital channels, BBC1,2,3,4 and BBC Newsare lost. I have to go through installation process each time. They are retained until I switch off and for about 20 mins afterwards. But any longer and need re-installation. Analogue OK for BBC1. BBC2. Get message that signal not strong enough!!

When we have the second retune next week, will I have to do a manufacturer's reset again, or will a simple update suffice?

I have Techwood PVR + TopUp tv + TVonics box and Hauppauge card in PC. All reporting good reception on all channels after phase one. Hauppauge card was the only fiddly one - had to remove the existing database & then do a rescan.

Big Mart: As there are five mux channel changes and one disappearing you could just carry out an initial rescan with the aerial unplugged, then follow this with another rescan after reinserting same, but if any problems cropped up that lasted more than a couple of days I am afraid that its a reset job, as that would be inclined to indicate that some corrupted data is still lurking around in the tuners memory.

Channels 3 to 6, 8, 10, 12 to 18, 22 to 24, 26 to 28 (which includes all ITV and C4 stations) have suddenly gone blank this afternoon. I re-tuned thinking this would help now these channels are just not showing at all :(

Linda: I'd check for a broken, loose or disconnected cable, or a dislodged or misaligned aerial. If you're using a communal aerial system provided by the landlord, the power supply to the distribution amplifier may have failed - check with your neighbours.

Right now the BBC channels are broadcasting at 10x the power of the rest. It's quite possible that at only 14km away, the signal strength is high enough for the BBC channels to still be received even without a proper connection to the aerial. It does appear that you still have Mux D though (which carries logical channel numbers 11, 19, 20, 24, 29, 32).

What does the analogue picture look like for the remaining analogues (BBC One, ITV1 [on BBC Two's old channel], C4, C5)? If it's snowy, this points to an aerial problem.

On 18 April, all the other services will increase up to the same power level as the BBC services, but of course it won't then be possible to check against analogue.

Logical channel number 8 is reserved (unused) in England. In Wales it's used for Channel 4 (because S4C replaces C4 at 4) and in Scotland for BBC ALBA.

peter T: If you still get BBC Two analogue, you're not getting it from Crystal Palace, or any of the London transmitters. It was switched off last Wednesday. Perhaps you're using Bluebell Hill?

We can't provide any better advice without a full postcode.

peter T: Also check that your box is not one that is known to have a problem with the larger Network Information Table used from 2009 - http://www.digitaluk.co.u…tnit .
