Any suggestions please?
Switched room 1 to HD PVR & TV and now seeing break up on various channels. Have an amp inline in th aerial feed that serves these 2 boxes, and a second (SD) PVR in another room. Only other thing is that the old TV was not on aerial as it was analogue only. Could the extra device (or the cable In place) be an issue,
Am testing removing the aerial cable for PVR to TV to see what happens, we mostly time shift, so it's not a big deal.

PJB : Well its not really easy to advise on this without having knowledge of your location or at least one from nearby such as a shop, as the signal levels expected at your location cannot be assessed, but try a test with the aerial by-passing the in line amp and going either straight into the PVR or the TV, giving an update on results.

Although by being unable to assess the signal levels expected at wherever you might be located complicates the issue.

My Mum and Dad live in Langford and do not get channel 10, ITV3, or Quest channel 38. The ariel is a digital one and situated in the loft. Is the ariel in the loft to blame?

Peter: They should try a manual scan of UHF channel 51 if there is a manual tune function. Having entered the channel number, but before pressing the button to scan, wait and see what the strength and quality on that channel is, if it gives such readings.

On the basis that they are only 5 miles from the transmitter they wouldn't be expected to have an issue.

The main possible thing could be too high a signal level:

Recently we lost all stations on channels 48 (Film 4 etc) 51 (ITV3 etc) and 52 (Pick tv etc). All BBC channels, ITV1, C4, C5 etc are excellent (Channels 27 and 24). I installed a new aerial, still same problem. Same on both TVs, manual and auto retuning does not help. Any ideas?

London

I went to my local chip shop the other day and noticed an aerial looking at Sandy Heath.

Nothing too unusual in that except that my chip shop (Mr Fast fry) is in Greenwich, South London.

I looked at the postcode checker and there is a 90% plus signal there on all the main MUXs .

Same if I put in sample postcodes in SE18 or SE2 further along the river Thames.

There have always been a few Anglia TV aerials along this stretch of river but always looking at Sudbury not Sandy.

Does anyone know if Sandy has had a major change in its radiation pattern? The digital power seems in proportion (at less than 1/5 of analogue).

I did a plot using this site Terrain - shows radio profile between two UK sites to optimise you DTT, Freeview, DAB or analogue TV reception and the path appears well and truly blocked several times miles away.

We are about 5 metres AOD and are 73kms away from Sandy!

My signal from Crystal Palace is fine by the way (SE10 0AE), I am just curious how such a strong signal penetrates south of the Thames.
(SE100AE)
